The Optical People

This is a highly professional practice. Equipment levels are bang up to date and staff expertise is very high. All the staff are welcoming, quickly put patients at their ease and always go the extra mile to help. We couldn't be in better hands. I recently had an emergency, arising from an eye infection that they spotted but the hospital, initially, didn't. They went out of their way to get me the immediate treatment I needed. If it hadn't been for them, I'd have been in real trouble. I'd recommend the Optical People to anyone. Well worth a look.

Absolutely brilliant service at The Optical People in Chepstow. They went above and beyond in the name of customer service, including finding a pair of frames that I’d seen on TV that they didn’t even stock!

The eye exam was far more thorough than any I had previously experienced so I felt very confident that everything was checked comprehensively.

Brilliant service, will definitely be going there next time.

Great opticians, both myself and my daughter have been and the staff are friendly and professional. Excellent range of glasses to choose from and both times they arrived much quicker than expected. Definitely recommend

My optician was lovely but I am really upset and annoyed with the reception staff. I am still waiting for my glasses and it’s been over a month (please bear in mind that I have given the optical people my own glasses which I have purchased).
First my glasses were sent back to the lab because the glass was too thick and now the lab have sent my glasses to a completely different optician.
I keep on ringing and it often rings through and when someone does answer I get false promises; I am being told different things by different people and I get told that they will ring me back and they never do. Totally unacceptable and frustrating.

UPDATE - they have been lost.

Words can’t describe how annoyed I am. I have been struggling the last month without an updated pair of glasses just to find out they have been lost.

A fantastic team at “The Optical People”. Was having a lot of trouble seeing with my new glasses. Nicola was soon able to tweak the prescription, and after reverting to my favoured Silhouette lenses… all is clear again… thank you guys for your skill and patients. I can see the tree roots while mountain biking again, with my tweaked contact lenses also, which is always a good thing. Thank you Nicola.

Great staff but dreadful service in my opinion from the laboratory (I have been led to believe).
Collected 2 pairs of glasses. I mentioned both made me feel sick. Told to persevere.. I
also mentioned both pairs made my sight worse. Told that they wouldn't make much difference and to wear for everything🤯 slightly confused at this point...why would I wear long distance glasses for tv/ house/ computer/ iPad ..? Told to do this. Ended up falling badly and hurting myself. A new appointment with optical people telling me both prescriptions were wrong (fault of the laboratory)..Now 7 weeks into this and no apology. Struggling to understand why anyone would pay for new glasses, feel sick, fall over and get told ‘it’s the lab that has got this wrong.’
