Vision Express Opticians - Carmarthen

Absolutely awful customer service/care. As soon as we walked in we were told to put on a face mask. Have never been told to put one on before, as I'm exempt. I didn't argue, I put one on. Loosened it to take a breather was told abruptly to put it back on. I did. Felt very uncomfortable. Can't even remove it to try on glasses?! No wonder it's always dead in there. Only went as it had a next day appointment (not surprising really) everywhere else was a 2 week wait. I'll go back to my regular optician next time.

I had an issue with my eye on Saturday and my usual opticians were closed. Phoned 111 and was given a few numbers of emergency opticians. This store was one. The service I received was second to none. Turns out I had a corneal ulcer. The optician contacted the opthalmology department in Glangwili. They couldn't see me till Sunday but I was given an antibiotic eye cream to help out over night. Had a cover letter to take with me as well. Even had a call today to ask if everything was OK.
Absolutely faultless service and I'm not even a patient there.

Brilliant staff. Very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Husband had varifocals so quite expensive, but the service is worth paying for. Much better than the opposition beginning with S whom we've used for years.

Really good experience from start to finish. Booked the eye test online and in entering the store wax reassured with the COVID measures in place. The eye test was thorough and never felt rushed. I really wanted a particular pair of Oakley glasses. Not only were they in stock, but the optician was able to recommend the best lense solution at a very competitive price. One very happy customer.

After waiting two weeks for my wife's replacement glasses to be made, I called into the store to see if they ready. I was pleased that they were, until I got them home only to find that the nose pad holder that the sales lady broke hadn't been repaired. How is it possible to fit lenses to the frame and not notice that the nose pad holder was broken? That was a 30 mile round trip wasted.

I would like to thank the young man who helped me out today when I completely unexpectedly had to dash around to get quotes for what might otherwise have turned out to have been an incredibly expensive pair of new lenses.
Having gone to my own optician - and what a palavar tht is turning out to be - I'd found myself with a new quote almost double the initial quote.
These are tough times financially and going from £140 to £300 for a pair of lenses is a hell of a difference.
So I commenced on the dreaded task of running around the high street to "shop around". Boots were going to charge £140 for a re-glazing fee. Total and utter nonsense since I have just bought a brand new pair of frames.
Two down, one to go.
Vision Express came close to my optician's quote, BUT, far more importantly, the young man at the counter was actually able to give me honest and informed advice. He very patiently explained why my quotes were so different and now it all makes sense.
I will be leaving my optician and next time I need a new pair of glassess I will definitely be starting off back here.
