Tried to buy a present for my partner, asked for student discount from one young lady who happily said it was 15%. I went to continue shopping and returned and I asked a different, older, worker how much it was as I had forgotten - for her to respond with ‘well if you were listening the first time you would know’? Thought right okay maybe trying to have a joke I’ll let it pass. I then asked if they did student discount in which she replied ‘only on Wednesdays’. Baffled and confused I questioned this and she repeated only on Wednesdays. I walked away in fury as I knew this was absolute b*ll*cks; so I rang 3 different stores asking if they granted student discount and if they granted it every day or just on Wednesdays - which they replied that they grant it every day. I marched back to the store and kindly confronted your worker and explained to her I’d contacted other stores and that the ‘only on wednesdays’ offer does not exist. She then replied to me and patronised me saying ‘oh you didn’t say it was UNiDAYS, of course you can have discount’? I replied with is student discount the same as UNiDAYS then and she said no because I need to take the code. She processed the sale through (god knows why or how I didn’t walk away) but proceeded WITHOUT putting any code in? Do I look like I was born yesterday? I know that the worker saw a young man and thought she could whittle her sales tricks and wanted the full price sale rather than giving good service! I work in retail myself and if that was me I would be embarrassed. Shambles. If I could put 0 I would but 1 star for the lovely young girl in the store!
