My puppy was cut on Thursday 24th February. After dropping her off we were contacted to say the groomer would need to cut shorter due to some knots, which we had no issue with. Unfortunately and very upsettingly when she was picked up we were greeted with a puppy that had been cropped unbelievably short with absolutely no shih tzu facial characteristics left. She has been utterly traumatised, to a point where she can not stop shaking and very subdued. She is a completely different puppy (character wise) as to the one we dropped off. She was a typical puppy, playful, excitable and full of of energy and now a shadow of herself that trembles uncontrollably. She had been groomed by someone else before, with no issues at all, but unfortunately our original groomer had hurt her back and has been unable to work. This is why we looked for someone else. If anyone finds themselves in this position I highly recommend you do not use this groomer…..dreadful, dreadful, dreadful!
Pictures attached will show you it doesn’t even look like the same dog!
Following on from your response.
My daughter was the person who you dealt with and I had full knowledge of the situation. As I have already said we were completely understanding of your need to cut her shorter than had been discussed. However, I am complexed as why you would go so short and to the point where you not only shaved her body but also her head. Why did you not shape her head and face as a Shih Tuz IF you are a professional groomer? For you to point out that my daughter didn’t say anything when picking her up is irrelevant. The shortness of the hair is awful, however it will grow back. The bigger concern I have is the trauma my puppy is obviously feeling for reasons I’ve already mentioned. What on earth you put her through I can only imagine.
