I have been here many times and usually the service has been quick and friendly. However, I have now received the 3rd Penalty charge notice from 3 occasions at this chemist.
The first 2 were because I was in college and the pharmacist kept telling me to tick a certain box which allows me to get free prescriptions. I asked many times if this was correct and was told yes. A few months down the line I receive 2 separate fines for £50 pound each.
The 3rd fine was because I went to pick up my prescription and the pharmacist hadn't yet arrived. Upon arriving I spoke to another girl there who told me she'd already been waiting for him to turn up. She had been waiting for 1 hour and a half. After another 45/60 mins he showed up. All the time we were waiting it was raining and we wasn't allowed to wait in the shop as the pharmacist wasn't there. When he arrived he told us the card machine wasn't working and gave us our prescriptions. I offered to go to the cash point there and then so it was paid. He then replied with 'No, come back when you can'. I work a full time 5 day a week job so its very hard for me to pop back as when I can it is usually closed.
I then receive a fine through the day a month or two later. So I go round there to sort it and he said he will phone them and sort it, he took my letter.
I then go back there a few days later and he starts telling me I said I'd come back Monday. Even though I said I might and I came back Tuesday. It is hard for me to get there some days as of the trains from work etc...
Telling me I've been very dishonest, he was very rude to me in front of my mother and my neighbour as well. This consisted of telling me I was being dishonest and laughing in my face. He said he'd sorted the fine and I had to send them a cheque by post (which is unheard of these days).
I rang the NHS fine service up today. A lady told me that they wouldn't ask for cheques as they don't take them and also that there was no record of him calling on my reference number.
I also asked him to write a letter and let me pay the £8.80 and he did not do this, he said he would ring the NHS himself and this has led to more grief.
I've now had to pay for this fine and I am appalled.
I am fuming and disgusted by this service, which has now led to me paying 3 fines of £52.80. I work alongside the NHS and I would never rip them off.
Just writing this as a warning to others.
THEY GO ABOVE AND BEYOND
