Nelson's Pharmacy

Terrible service. Very disappointed today with the short blonde haired woman aged about 45 to 50 years old serving customers. Went in with my prescription which she took from me. She looked around on the shelves for my tablets for about 5 minutes and then started chatting to her colleagues for another ten minutes and never even bothered to come back to the counter where I was still stood. Another gentleman then entered the pharmacy and she started to serve him. Then the head pharmacist came up to the counter and the blonde haired woman who took my prescription started talking to him whilst she was munching on chewing gum. For a further five minutes I was just left standing there like a dummies. I then said excuse me but could someone let me know what's happening about my prescription as I've been standing here for nearly 20 minutes. The head pharmacist then asked if I had been seen too? I mean how bad is it when the person who takes your prescription can not even say sorry for keeping you waiting or even let you know what's going on between her chewing gum munching. Totally not impressed

The delivery service is very poor.When prescriptions are ordered over the telephone on a Monday , your left pondering if you will receive the prescription by Friday. When you telephone to inquire, your told "Its on the van" .
No updates from chemist, no courtesy call from driver to customer or even a card left in the letter box if customer not home when delivery is being made.
Very poor logistics.

Since we have been on lockdown I have seen staff at Nelson work tirelessly to support those in our community needing prescriptions for medications! Whilst I appreciate that Nelson provide medications we may require, the intense volume of people I have seen going back and forth and the amounts of prescriptions they have had to complete has been phenomenal and must of caused them to work under extreme and trying pressures! Nelson Chemist seemed to have more than doubled its normal monthly quota of regular prescriptions without having to provide patients with their acute prescriptions that our Gp’s are writing On top! They have been a credit and huge support to our community during this time of COVID 19 and it’s lockdown and I want to thank them so much for all their hard work, which they have done in a kind, considerate and caring manner!! Definitely up their to be though of as a frontline service that currently serves our community during unprecedented times. I have noticed some people aren’t very patience in waiting short times for some medications under these trying times but I have notice staff at Nelson working equally hard to try and get our little community what it needs.so please be kinder and thoughtful to a currently stretched service

Usually buy 75mg asperin from home bargains instead of having it on prescription 59p none in stock so asked in Nelson wanted £3 when I remarked they were 59 p in home bargains told by shop assistant go and buy them from home bargains then I doubt if she would pay 5 times more for an item

Told to call to check if medication had been delivered after they ordered it called 63 time no answer.

Really helpful and friendly staff here nothing is to much trouble.
Very clean and has everything you need medicine wise.
The pharmacist is a true gent, very helpful, polite and always has time to talk to you or do a consultation.
I would highly recommend this pharmacy.
