Pizza Express

Another hidden gem in the heart of Oxford 🎓. We have organised there a birthday party🎂🎉🎈 for our little one. Kids had an actual workshop making their own pizza🍕 and then tried their pizza as lunch!

👷 Staff: I think we had the best customer service experience ever. All the staff were so helpful, so kind and so patient with the kids. And trust me there were 15 kids! The pizza instructor was exceptional! Their manager should be really proud of them.

🍲 Food: I have tried the "pollo pesto" and it was exceptional, well baked with the right proportion of olive oil, chicken and basil (see photo).

📍Location: It is inside the covered market, so you can combine it with a visit in the market.

🏠 Place: We stayed in the first floor, what an amazing atmosphere. It is actually a well preserved historical inn with great decoration (see photos attached).

Four of us, two young people and two seniors. We had booked, but it didn’t seem like it. The server was good, but I am hard of hearing and had to ask for her to speak clearly. The dough balls and sauces were yum, especially the jalapeño. Main course 2x pizzas were delicious and we enjoyed our salads very much, although disappointed that the Nicoise was not available. There were a number of desserts unavailable, which seemed very strange for early Saturday evening! Lemon roulade and choc fudge cake to name but two! I eventually had the strawberries with chocolate dipping sauce. The strawberries were anything but fresh, small underwhelming little berries, and the sauce too thin. However overall we were full and happy and enjoyed our evening together. We will come again, but buy better strawberries and make sure you have enough puddings!

Great food as always. You really can't go wrong with Pizza Express menu. Only 5hing I found disappointing with the food is they changed the harrisa type dip with the dopio doughballs to bbq sauce...which is disgusting and a let down. The main reason for a lower score is the place looks closed and abandoned from outside and the restaurant lacked atmosphere. Staff were good though and food is always good.

Standard pizza express, recommend the sloppy Giuseppe or one of the chicken pasta dishes

I cannot rave enough about this restaurant!! I just had my birthday party here. I had to change the size of the reservation several times, and each time I asked they were so easily obliging and thoughtful about it. I was extremely impressed by the kind and diligent manager, Vic. The staff took my birthday cake right away and put candles on it and brought it out in such a nice way. The food was delicious and the service lovely. They made my celebration so special and memorable. I hardly ever write reviews, but Vic and the Oxford staff really were outstanding. The dough balls and pizza were fabulous. We couldn’t get enough. It was a big party of twelve and we were served super attentively. Everyone loved it and I’m very grateful. Thank you for a wonderful night!

I love pizza express and have tried many of their restaurants across the UK, I was looking forward to trying the food here but unfortunately my girlfriend is on crutches at the Moment and the downstairs area of the restaurant was closed for some reason and with no disabled access to the upstairs portion of the restaurant we were unable to eat here, I'm sure the food is as good as all the other pizza expresses in the UK but if you have trouble walking or are a wheelchair user unfortunately I cannot recommend.

I had a waitress named Jodie, who was beyond polite, willing to put up with my indecisiveness and an all round angel. The atmosphere was great, the service better and the food was stellar. Would definitely come again

Unfortunately this was the worst pizza express we've been in, it was very quiet in there but from the start the service was slow, unprofessional, and for some reason we were seated right by the kitchen, where we had the pleasure of having numerous Uber eats delivery people walking by us while we were eating. The toilets were a state too.
