Cheltenham Post Office

I use the local Post Office quite often as it is the closest to where I live. Some of the staff in the post office section can be good and i havent had many issues. But for people who are working in the public sector, their customer service skills are very good.
The other day i went in, i waiting at the front of the Q and waited to be called. I was there for 10 minutes, then asked one of the 3 staff that were sat behind the desks if they were free. They laughed and said they are having system issues, and joked it must be in lockdown. They should say something along the lines of sorry for the inconvenience or tell the people in the Q there is an issue. Not make people wait when the issue may be there for a while.
It is definitely not service with a smile and with 1 or 2 of the staff it seems like I am causing them geat inconvenience by asking for them to send my parcel.
But some of the staff are good, the new self service area can be good and the man who usually operates that is helpful.
At the moment they have the 2m distance rules which are clear on the ground.

Absolutely tragic! If there was an option to leave 0 stars I'd do it. Self service machines constantly closed, half the staff always missing, 50+ minutes in the queue to post one item - no matter what time of day you choose. I lived in London city centre for 4 years, I NEVER had to wait that long in a post office queue before and this town is a sandpit in comparison. I am not a person who wastes time leaving reviews normally but I just had to say something - if you have an alternative place to post parcels stay well away from this branch!

All four self checkouts closed. One person working at the desk on a Saturday!?! Madness-they need more staff for a central Post Office. It’s a great space and the people are generally lovely but it’s just stupidly understaffed especially on peak days. Plus the self checkouts would really help with the queues but they seem to always be out of order!

If you have any way of avoiding this post office then do. It would have got 1* but the staff are friendly and polite and the self service machines are very occasionally on and working. The queues are horrendous and it is unlikely you'd get to the front in your lunch hour. The waits are awful and the many desks are rarely used. There is usually one person on the travel money section and one person on the normal one. Nowhere near enough staff and nowhere near enough post offices in Cheltenham. If you can find a different one - go there!

Rude staff (they have nil customer service qualities) and too few of them (frequently only one working). If you enjoy being treated with disinterest and watching, from the back of a long queue, as the staff close counters and walk off for their lunch - do go and spend your day here. But be warned - you will need plenty of time and must not expect to leave happy.

Every time I need to go to the post office I have to allow myself an hour. Self service often closed or out of order. Post office staff are seen visibly doing other things rather than serve the massive queue of people which is frustrating to see one person deal with everyone when surely they can support in peak times.Its twice in the same week I've been in and people just turn away.

Someone needs to step in? Only ever one person serving. Queues snaking around the store. Employee states staff levels determined sufficient by H/O........ Do they WANT to close? Expect between 30mins to an hour wait....Absolute nightmare.

The slowest post office experience ever encountered. Staff have zero understanding of what fast efficient service means...
