Peckham Post Office

Is it a horrific experience as others would have you believe... not really. Is it the best Post Office in London... not even close. There is always a long queue and the space is a claustrophobics nightmare. But, the staff operates with business-like efficiency. Because there’s always a long line, they don’t have the time for small-talk; there are usually 3 customer service members working the windows. The space is in Desperate need of a facelift but I do feel the staff is doing their best given their limitations.

Ridiculous queues, rude staff, too small to serve the whole of peckham, refuses to take prepaid parcels even if booked via Royal mail. Privatised fake post office. I've also caught them overcharging yet they deny it and try to justify it.

As a local, I've been coming here for years. The branch can be really busy but staff are very helpful and friendly. Three staff who are there almost everyday, we see them every time we come to the branch are excellent in what they do. They should be rewarded I think.

The only post office in Peckham and is always packed and slow.

Very big queues at times. Come prepared to stand in long queues.
There several counters, but one or two will be working even at busy times.

I do not think I have come across such disgusting customer service in my entire existence. Not only is everything single worker extremely unhelpful they are also very disrespectful. They once misplaced my parcel in their location and instead of admitting that they decided to send me to two different locations telling me my parcel is not with them. This was of course a lie and a massive waste of my time. If not for my persistence, I would not have received that parcel which was worth £200. They are also constantly disrespectful and even kiss their at customers? I hope there is training available because their unprofessionalism is unmatched. I truly do despise having to ever go to this post office as I am always met with disrespect over the smallest queries. I always make sure I have every document I need and ID when collecting parcels to lessen all the hassle and to make it a smooth process but they are just so miserable and unpleasant no matter what. Disgusting place that needs new management and staff immediately.

I try to avoid using post office services as a rule as there are now way better options out there IMO. The set up around Peckham is pretty bad, and there’s often a stinker of a queue at the post office, even outside of busy times. There’s 6 cashier spots and often 1 or 2 people serving.

Most people seem to be dropping off returns parcels. It’d be great to have a fast track for that or for the depot off rye lane to give proof of postage so returns parcels can be dropped off there safely (as now it’s a bit of a cross your fingers and hope situation at the minute if you do…)
