I avoid this post office and shop as much as I can. Rude staff who don't even acknowledge your there, always on the phone. I once went in to get gas top up and when I put it in my card reader, the money wasn't on there. I then had the hassle of ringing British gas and waiting for them to put the credit on but I had to top my card up a few times before I got the money. Such aggravation. Too busy on the phone to concentrate on what he was doing. I've been warned a few times by various different people of the cash machine outside the shop aswell so I always withdraw money from inside at the post office if I'm really desperate.

Staff here are really kind and helpful. And there is rarely a wait. If it is before after school / work there will be a queue - I would say the maximum waiting time I have had is 20 minutes.
They do not offer passport forms here or passport form checking.
They have always explained various methods of postage to me, how much they are, if tracking and signature is available, and how much compensation for the value of what's inside, and check what is inside the package to see whether is needs special warning sticker (for example lithium battery).
I have always been given a receipt. And you can pay by cash or card, including contacless. The card machine has always been in working order.
Stamps are available here. Travel money is available here, I exchanged some euros once (you might want to check various locations for exchange fees, there is many places in Romford if you want to research this and different options)
This post office is lovely, I'm glad it's my local.
There is post office accessories for example parcel tape /bubble wrap / envelopes / jiffy bag (these are purchased at the convenient store till, not the post office till)
There is a cash machine outside (ATM)
this post office is inside a convenient store.

So incredibly slow service. Staff are regularly socialising at front of long queues. Take a fold-up chair with you, you’ll need it.

Service is slow but I’d say this is fairly standard for a post office. There are a couple on on-street parking spots outside which are handy. The best thing about this PO is the opening hours - they accept post until 5:30pm which is incredibly useful for those who work full time.

On Saturday 1st October 2022, I went to Post office to deposit the sum of £130 into my bank account. At the time of interacting with the cashier, I was holding an 8 month old child in my arms. The cashier confirmed the amount I wish to deposit and asked me to insert my card and pin. I obtained a receipt which went straight into my pocket

I later checked my receipt / bank account / to find £110 was deposited to my account. I returned immediately upon noticing and as the Post office was closed, they asked me to return on Monday.

Monday 3rd October 2022, returned and was advised by the same cashier that the Post office had £20 extra deposited on the till.

Result / Outcome
£20 was deposited back into my account with minimal enquiries / wait time, a few minutes after returning to the Post office to address the issue

Got a message from DPD at 1:45 on a Saturday saying my parcel had been dropped off at post office but couldn't pick up until the Monday even though the shop is open seven days a week, the post office only opens Saturday morning at weekends.

Rude, arrogant and incompetent. I got there at 5:20, they are supposed to be open till 5:30. The lady behind the counter very rudely told me that she’s got better things to do and can’t be bothered. Won’t be coming back again, it’s such a shame that they have a monopoly over the post in this area as they would have been out of business years ago if there was another post office nearby.

I have lived nearby this place for 25 years now as well as seen several owners flow through it over these same years. Lovely little shop, full of every type of knick knack you probably ever would need to run your household with, foods galore and the Post Office here amongst it all as well. Great.
Run very well and Officially by Asian and Indian Families over the years many of the locals shop here. Pre covid open all hours but clipped well back now during the plague it is also a food shop so can remain open and does as its an essential service to all of us Pensioners ( and that includes little old me as well these days too and all! ) and the local community for several miles around. Is just up the road from Gidea Park Railway Station and on the 294 bus route in both directions.
You can do all your banking, licencing, bills paid, well, most of all that banking stuff here.
