Rubbish, will not use this post office again. Which is a shame as the shop staff are really helpful. Post office staff, not helpful at all. Gave incorrect and misleading information in order to take more money. Certainly not the service you would expect.

I went to New Eltham Post Office to post a large letter today and asked for registered post, having weighed the letter I was told it would cost £7.50, I said that was a bit expensive but the lady said noting, having paid for the postage I checked online and found that there was cheaper options starting from £3.80 for 48 hrs tracked or 48 hrs tracked and signed for £4.44, just disappointed that she did not take the time to ask if I need to have my parcel derived 1pm by special delivery, which I did not, so lets offer him the most expensive option, yes she made a sale but lost a customer as I will now buy my postage, be it letter or parcel online.

Really disappointed with how awfully I’ve been treated here on three separate occasions. I try not to be reactive when leaving my reviews, but there’s no excuse for the poor standard of service from this branch.

On the first occasion, I was refused service because my packaging “wasnt acceptable” and I was told that I’d have to buy the Royal Mail bags to repackage before sending it off. I walked a further 10mins to Corbylands Road post office, who sent off the very same package without trouble. And the recipient received it without complaint.

On the second occasion, I asked for the postage cost to be calculated so that I could affix the stamps I already had. I was told to do so myself and the summary was thrust in my face. I was asked to step aside while another customer was served and I was never returned to. Bearing in mind I share my customer service experience with Royal Mail to help to improve their services, this should definitely be flagged as unacceptable as this is a service they should offer & one that I’ve used in several other branches.

On this occasion, I asked to return an Amazon order. I was then told I’d have to pay a nominal charge to print as they refuse to scan the barcode in the email before sending. Bearing in mind that this was supposed to be a quick errand between meetings, I explained that this is something I’ve done numerous times without trouble but agreed to pay the fee and print it out at the main shop desk. This was something I’d never done before but when I proceeded to the main desk to do so, the Manager then instructed the assistant not to serve me altogether. In shock, I asked why and grabbed my phone to get the details of the branch as this service is abysmal. To which I was then threatened, and warned that my phone would be smashed if I attempted to take a picture. When I asked for the name of this Manager who was treating me so badly, all I got was a first name “Harry” and an outright refusal to serve or help me further. I was distraught and returned to work.

Later in the day, I visited a different branch and used the same details to post the package without hassle.

I honestly left so shaken up and frazzled because I’ve never been spoken to or treated so disrespectfully. Had it been an isolated event, I may have been more understanding. But it’s the dismissive nature of the post office staff & the insolence in attitude from the Manager, Harry, that made me want to share this with others.

In summary, on multiple occasions, they’ve attempted to charge me for products and services I don’t need and spoke to me disrespectfully as though I were a child. Unacceptable

I popped in here in desperation to have my baby’s passport photo taken urgently after many failed attempts in a booth. The lovely couple who run the post office went above and beyond to help me get it done by offering to take a photo of my baby in her pram and play around with the digital photo until it was perfect for the requirements which took a lot of the man’s time. The couple were very patient, polite and chatty and made my experience enjoyable when it could have been stressful trying to get a photo of a 3 month old! Thank you so much for all your help! :)

I come here most weekends with my partner and have always found everybody in here really friendly and helpful.

There are items that I sometimes think are small parcel, they then put them through their template and find it's large letter... saving me money. They didn't have to do that, but went the extra mile to try and save me a bit of money here and there.

They've now introduced me to Drop and Go which has saved me a great deal of time and streamlined my business. Thanks to everybody at New Eltham Post Office.
