Today I was meant to receive a parcel from a friend, he paid for next day delivery and was provided that it should be here today during morning hours.
I understand that the Covid can cause a lot of problems and delays with the deliveries but it was getting towards a time when I should’ve been received news or some sort of notification about my parcel but I didn’t.
It was around 1 or 2pm when I phoned them asking about it, the lady seems lovely but her response wasn’t fitting for me, she explained that “there wasn’t a parcel for me” however on track and trace it showed that it was at summersdale post office.

I wish I could give this "Post Office" counter at the One Stop in Summerdale zero stars. The number of times I've made a specific journey here to be told it's shut for XYZ excuse (changes every time) yet every other Post Office in Chichester seems to function normally every day of the year... On the occasions I've arrived and it is open (rare) I've been frequently told that they cannot accept my parcel as it's too big! I've contacted the Post Office head office and they have confirmed that Summerdale One Stop must not refuse any parcels within Post Office size limits, so they are in breach of their contract.

Staff attitude is absolutely appalling and on one occasion I was forced to stand there waiting for the postman to arrive as they supposedly didn't have enough space to take my parcel (even though there was plenty of space on the shelves behind and I pointed this out to the extremely rude man behind the counter). Interestingly, the only parcel that I've sent that has ever gone missing was left at this Post Office counter, so they are potentially untrustworthy, too. My advice is to avoid this "Post Office" at all costs.

Hadn't really used pre Covid, obviously longer wait to use now, probably not ideal on wet or cold days. Helpful and mostly friendly staff. Not all Post Office services available.

This shop is very poorly run, and all I have ever seen from the staff is a "we don't care" attitude. The Post Office service is an absolute joke, it's never actually open. "We don't have the staff" said the lady sitting behind the post-office counter this morning - despite the "open hours" sign - I had checked online before coming. Avoid.

The worst post office ever.
Often closed with no warning or explanation. So many hours wasted

EDIT: In the last few months they definitely seem to have trained more staff or are more aware of the need to actually take parcels. But still very inconsistent.

Never have I seen a 'post office' so consistently not manage to post anything.

The magic mystery person who runs the post office counter is never there. Not sure why the Post Office as a business is even using these lot.

If you fancy staring at a felt tip sign saying 'The Post Office is closed today' you'll have a great time here.

Thought I’d try the post office after boycotting it following a very bad experience a couple of years ago. I wish I hadn’t bothered. One customer at the counter one behind her. No customers anywhere near the entrance or the tills. I was “asked” by the staff member in a very direct manner to step outside and wait. No reason other than I was “blocking the entrance” (from nobody). It was extremely cold outside so I requested that I be able to stay inside. I would of course have moved out of the way had somebody entered or a crowd built up. No, the woman behind the counter wasn’t having it and I was again asked to step outside which I did…never to return. In the 2 years since my last visit they have learned nothing about Customer Services there. Back to Parklands where they are unfailingly courteous (and always open when they say they are).

Much the same poor experience as others have mentioned, closed during opening hours for various reasons such as stacking shelves, can't take parcels because the post office section has to stop for lunch (is that a Royal Mail stipulation? - other shops seem to manage). Basically not providing the same level of service as can be found nearby.
Again (9 months after review for last bad customer service) I was turned away with a parcel that was 1cm too big that was taken by the next post office I went to. Why does this post office not provide the same level of service as elsewhere? They seem to put effort into being unhelpful.
