very slow - a queue of over 20 people - several of them elderly with sticks waited for over 15 minutes to be served. I think because many of the customers are old, less well-off, have children with them or are foreigners sending parcels abroad, they do not want to complain. But the level of service is unacceptable in a major post office in the middle of a capital city.
I was told by the manager that several staff were off sick.. Why then did he not roll up his sleeves, open an extra window and serve there himself? Customers come last !

I've been to worse places, but I would definitely say don't go at lunch because the lines are absolutely ridiculous.

The staff is OK.

And if you do the self-service machines, they often break or don't work at the very end when you need a receipt. I don't know what this has happened every time I've gone, but it should be fixed, especially when there's a line of people waiting.

came in on a Saturday which is surely the busiest day and none of the self service machines were in service and there were only two members of staff on, I was in a queue behind at least 7 people and the service was terribly slow. I only wanted to drop off a return parcel. It would make sense to put more staff on on the day where everyone would tend to go in right?

I'm grateful they've introduced self-service machines, but less grateful that in order for my payment to be taken, I have to wait for a member of staff to assist. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of a SELF-service machine. Oh well. It still beats joining the other queue, which seems to move incredibly slowly.

Generally I hate the chore of going to the Post Office, but every time I go to this branch, I leave with a huge smile after having a real pleasant experience. The team in the self service area are amazing. A total pleasure to deal with (and I go there often), they go above and beyond, they're patient and just genuinely nice people.
I have only once had to go to through the line and go to the counter - this was a total other experience. Very transactional and not great service.
So I recommend the self service with 5 stars!! :)

Since the Old Street Post Office moved into the Coop it's been nothing short of a nightmare each time you enter. Despite the big sign out front that says "Drop and Go" service no one inside knew what a Drop and Go account was or which counter was responsible for this. The staff clearly haven't had the training and are out of their depth on even the simplest queries and services.

Save yourself time and hassle and go the extra distance to Islington Post Office on Upper Street.

Miserable and aggressive women working at this branch, be prepared to be shouted at for accidentally making one step closer to the counter when no one was in front, shouting and pointed “step back I’m not finished here can’t you see how busy I am”… is it the customer’s’ problem that you’re understaffed?? Then she claimed that your bank card on Apple Pay is not accepted nor your ID on your phone - even though it was not stated on the collection notice. Very good at making everyone’s life a misery.

this post office should have been open today until 18:00 yet someone shut the franchise earlier and i think breach of contractual obligations has been committed. i was forced to pay to get to another post office because of this. website says they shut today 29th dec 18:00 yet this is either misleading or staff acting outside job remit and contractual obligaitons
