NCP Car Park Cardiff Dumfries Place

It's just a car park, but it's a right pain in the backside to get to, thanks to the layout of roads in Cardiff being geared to buses. I guess it's pretty secure, which is useful if you're leaving your car overnight, especially in the centre of a city. Paying at the machine was a joke, though. It didn't recognise the discount code supplied by our hotel. Thankfully there was someone on the line when we pressed the "Help" button, but this was in the middle of the day. Whether they are there 24/7, I seriously doubt. Really not impressed.

Terrible car park. Un-hygenic and stairwells smelled of urine. Disgusting.
Machines don't work, terrible signage, no one from NCP to call or on site to help with paying. Got fined £100 as we were unable to pay despite trying for ages. Online apps didn't work, QR code didn't work and wouldn't accept payment either. Absolutely outrageous service.
Avoid like the plague.

Paying system is stupid, massive queue for one machine and payment method is not clear until you get to the exit door, causing massive hold ups. Also, exit signs are wrong and very confusing

Odd place as if you literally follow the exit signs you go round and round in long loops!! Eventually worked out that one had to go down the immediate hard right with no sign of any description. Pretty rubbish

Well located just on the outskirts. Short walk to the city centre. Easy to pay but entrance and directions could be clearer.

If you do manage to pay for your parking (at a pay machine that freezes after most transactions, with no help button) then you are given a challenge....
"You have 10 minutes to leave"
Sound reasonable?
How about if I told you the lift didn't work and the door to the level your car is parked on was locked?
Not only was this a ridiculous way to end what was otherwise a great evening, I have osteoarthritis so didn't welcome the extra stairs and walk up and down other levels due to someone's negligence.

Plenty of spaced, great location, car park is safe with roller shutter doors, bays are of decent size. Price was as expected from NCP.
