Brilliant afternoon with our 2 grandsons...age 4 and 2...the winner was of course Santa but equally toy train table which neither of them would leave....it appeared a big hit with all visiting children. The museum itself is amazing with such a collection of memorabilia we need to return to take it all in. Our greeting on arrival was lovely as was the presentation of our tickets..which included tickets to see Santa and drink with snacks ...our train ride to Santa was magical, our grandson has been wanting to get on a train with slamming doors so he got his wish ....

Great variety of train memorabilia and trains. Very friendly staff and dog. Fun train ride. Shame it isn't busier.

Amazing collection of railway signs from across the UK. Plenty of unchanged, unrestored Rolling stock left in original condition. Friendly staff and a fun train ride too

A great day out for the general enthusiast to the family. Family run private collection of railway memorabilia and rolling stock. Some of the rolling stock is the last examples left. a worthy visit for anyone. Friendly service, a cafe area. A true hidden gem that should not be left to the visiting tourist.

Such a friendly place, with an impressive collection of both rolling stock and many other railway artifacts.
Not to mention the train rides available.
Be sure to try your hand at the mechanical lever signal box frame and get to grips with interlocking which prevents trains colliding. The whole apparatus was sourced locally from the old Southminster signal box, before modernisation to colour light signalling.

Lovely railway museum, well worth a visit for enthusiasts. It has a lot of coaches you can go inside. There is a short line you can have a ride on, there is also the option to walk the line. For the children there is a wooden train set and a wooden James from Thomas and friends.

A truly amazing bringing together of railway yesterday's. The site is well laid out. There are plenty of covid-19 sanitizer stations. The staff were courteous, helpful and informative. The short ride added to the occasion. It was all relaxing and an enjoyable experience.
