Good experience for the family on the old train. The day tickets are only £2 more than one ride. It is a short ride with no other stops. There is a model railway with two radio controlled trains that the kids can control for £1 for 5 mins. Staff are friendly.

Nice setting and you can walk round to see a mini museum and sit in an old train car. Also a trail you can walk, which we didn't do.

The cafe is very expensive so watch out for the £5 sausage roll, take your own and eat in the picnic area overlooking the track.

Watch out when queuing in the platform, we got there early at the front of the queue, the train was late and stopped further back and it was a mad free for all to find a carriage as the train is old but old British manners went out the window and it was more like a London tube station. The staff are all volunteers so you have to just go for it.

Brilliant spooky wood trail. Great things to do with the mini golf, drive a train, rail exhibits and childrens playground. Could do with a larger cafe as always seems to be full

Took the kids to see this as a way of letting off a bit of steam instead of being cooped up at the great-grandparents' - turned out to be a total hidden gem. There was a really nice nature walk which had loads of information. There was the railway component too, and then the hut building area was also a great success. We went to the cafe before we left where they had a fantastic looking bit of cheesecake (none left for me). Would definitely recommend.

The site is lovely, but we were disappointed to find that they are not checking postcodes as part of the Leicester Covid lock down. It would therefore appear that people from Leicester were being made welcome. We wandered around the site, but didn't feel safe inside so left without buying any food or drink.
