Your Move Estate Agents Canterbury

Just sold our house (our family home which we had rented out whilst we moved away) through Your Move, Canterbury. Rupert was amazing in explaining the process to our tenant and very supportive to me too! Steve was always on the end of the phone if we needed him. They made a stressful process, much less stressful. Would definitely recommend.

A big thank you to Rupert, Bianca and Steve who handled the sale of our home in Canterbury.

Rupert came to our home at the start of the process and was very well prepared, bringing with him notes and research on recent sales of similar properties in the area. As I showed him round the house he was already taking quick measurements there and then. He talked us through the marketing they could offer, and although they took a slightly higher commission than other agents we'd spoken to, Rupert's professionalism convinced us that it would be worth it. Indeed, the house was listed the next day with an open day to be held the following week.

Bianca did a great job showing people round. This was the only day that viewings needed to be done, as we had several offers, and our final offer above asking price. We were grateful to only have this single day of disruption.

From here Steve took over the process. Although we hit some bumps from the top of the chain, Steve was able to reassure our buyer and guided us through to exchange and completion.

From start to finish, this was a slick experience, and I would recommend. Thanks again!

It was hard for me, as an international student, to find a suitable apartment with a reasonable price. I struggled for two months until I found this office. They helped so well, and I got an amazing apartment close to the city centre. They have an employee named Kate, who is always smiling; she was responsive to my inquiries and helped me get a discount on the rent. I highly recommend cooperating with this office

Your Move have provided us with an absolutely amazing experience. Despite many issues with our solicitors, Steve and Bianca have offered nothing but kindness and support and ensured we were constantly updated and kept in the loop. Bianca made us feel so welcome when showing us around and was always reliable and able to accommodate our requests. Steve fed all information back to us as quickly as possible and chased all parties involved to ensure we could exchange and complete at a time that suited us best. They made us feel so well looked after and we are so lucky to have had them to guide us through the process of buying our first home.

We’ve been treated terribly when buying a property via Your Move. Always difficult to get through the calls, never replied to the calls/messages, always saying oh I was about to call you back regardless it’s after 2 hours 2 days or a week when calling again, battering away questions between them so no one needs to respond. They indecently supported the greedy seller to change their minds and raise prices to re-list after the offer being accepted for 3 months (all our time, efforts and money got wasted in waiting)! During those 3 months waiting, we got lots of lies from them to trap us on the hook. One star for Bianca who is outstanding among other liars. Stay away from them! There are many far better estate agents and agencies in Canterbury.

We have just got the keys for our first home. We would like to say a big thank you to Steve and Bianca. Esp. Binca for always being available for us. She was very helpful and responded very quickly to our messages and calls. There were some delays from sellers' solicitors but as soon as we contacted Bianca, it would be sorted out. Once again, thank you so much Bianca for being such a delight and making the whole process so effortless from the first viewing of the house to getting the keys for the house.

I would highly recommend Your Move as a recent purchaser. Staffs were very helpful and professional. They helped me to go through the daunting times of the purchase process. As a former owner of an estate agency business in the USA responsible for 100's of millions in sales, I was overall disappointed by the team of Bianca, Steve and Rupert Canterbury office in handling a straight forward cash sale with no chain. At times they were fine but when things mattered there was a lack of proactive hands-on approach. We found we had to chase them during the process.

It's a responsibility when taking on a listing to know everything there is about the property, management, seller situation and be prepared to relay that information to perspective buyers. These guys are really just in the business of taking the listing on and that's about it- any monkey could do that and in fact a monkey would do better no doubt.

If you are a seller and thinking of hiring this firm, pause and really evaluate if its worth it.

Update, Jan 6th: Reply to Steve, Branch Manager response to my review: Steve says my review was "unfair" quite the contrary, it is very accurate and I could go into alot of more details. Steve was not involved much at all until the very end, in fact, we asked him to step in weeks before when we were having issues with this transaction. On the day of the completion, we had to call him, just to get the keys to the property- he or his staff should have been more on top of things. Then excuse that, their office did not deal directly with the Seller is a lie, we have emails that prove otherwise. This deal was supposed to close well before Christmas as well. I think this office mostly deals with rentals and maybe they are one of these cut price firms which is why we did not get a top buying experience as anyone should.
