I have recently sold one of my properties with Barker Stone Caterham and I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from start to finish, James Ankers came to the property within a few hours of my initial enquiry, he gave me a complete overview of the local market place and why he knew Barker Stone was the best brand for our sale. He gave me confidence that he would be able to sell our home quickly and efficiently to which I was not disappointed. The property was live to the market within 48 hours of us agreeing to use Barker Stone. Richard Duhig came to see us immedietley to take the photos and do all of the other miscellaneous items for the marketing.

The photos and literature are second to none which I feel helped the overall sale process, Richard dealt with all the applicants personally and talked us through which of our buyers that placed offers would be the most desirable. From this we have had a brilliant and smooth sale, Both James and Richard have been on hand the whole way, proactively progressing the sale and getting us a quick transaction with no stress at all. I would personally recommend them over any agent we have previously used in the past, including very prestigious well known Estate agents

We put our house up for sale with Barker Stone Caterham because of inactivity with a more local agent . We thankfully did not regret that decision because in no time at all we had people through the door , and that was totally down to James and Richard who I can’t praise enough for their professionalism. Even taking the pictures , they spent time on -getting them right ,and the quality of the listing and sales material was far superior ,which is of course was due to their hard work and experience.

As an older couple who hadn’t moved for some 38 years , we needed and received guidance in bucketfuls . we first marketed our home with an online agent who had no interest at all after they had the money. We decided to change to Barker Stone after they were recommended by a friend. They were the complete opposite of the online company, they took excellent photos and marketed our property to the highest standard, we had a viewing the first day. They were extremely polite, courteous and attentive though the whole procedure of selling our home, and we would recommend them highly.

We can only echo what has been written previously about James Ankers. When we first met James he completed our valuation and marketing in a timely manner. Right from the outset he was the utmost professional. He gave us a realistic valuation, set our expectations and all done with boundless energy. He carried out numerous viewings and provided meaningful feedback. Unfortunately, the first sale of our property fell through but James always made himself available via e mail and phone. He responded to all our messages and queries in a punctual and informative matter.
The second sale went through without a hitch and James ensured this time round there were no issues. He had a complete grip on all communications and the timescales involved. We recommended James to friends and he sold their house within two weeks of the property going on the market. I suppose that your house and your car are the two possessions that you own that you might get most nervous about when someone is standing there, about to deliver the news to you about how much they think they could be worth. After all, they're probably worth far more in your eyes than they might be to someone else aren't they. Enter James Ankers from Barker Stone, with a valuation that not only exceeded what I had in my head, but with a whole truck load of enthusiasm and passion to back up why he wanted the instruction, it was impossible to put the house for sale with anyone else.

There's then a moment when you sit back and think have I just been sucked in by a sales pitch, or been caught up by the excitement of an unrealistic valuation, have I just heard what I wanted to hear.....

The short answer is no.

James did exactly what he said he was going to do, and he did it with so much energy it was nothing short of incredible. Valuation done on the Wednesday, instruction given on the Thursday, the most amazing photos and video were taken on Saturday - honestly the attention to detail was second to none. Jame's colleague Simon is a master of the lens. Listing went live on Tuesday, first viewing booked for the next day within 10 mins of the listing going up. 9 viewings booked for the Saturday, full feedback provided on Monday, 4 second viewings, 4 offers, sold for asking price.

The buyers wanted to be in very quickly and I had no chain, so from start to finish the process took less than 8 weeks, all expertly managed and chased along by James. The only thing I could knock him on is his choice of football team(!), other than that, he did everything he said he would and more, and he did it in a way that I felt I was dealing with a friend.

I cannot recommend Barker Stone enough. If you're looking to sell, give them a call. You won't be disappointed.
