Recently moved into a property with JNR and they’ve been amazing. Previous tenants destroyed the place however they’ve helped with so many things and the moving in process has been easy and comfortable.
The maintenance can sometimes take a while (but when don’t they) but I would absolutely recommend!

Stay away!

In my personal opinion, the demands JNR make with regards to guarantors are completely out of line, especially considering their own standards, when it comes to sending documents back the other way. If you can't trust a letting agent to get the dates on a contract correct, what can you trust them on? Honestly it seems like all professionalism goes straight out of the window the second they have your holding fee, and a friend of mine is still waiting to get theirs back, months later.

In my honest opinion I would personally recommend avoiding JNR.

I was disappointed to hear about a friend's experience with JNR Properties. I understand they took a holding deposit then refused to proceed with the tenancy application without carrying out intrusive checks such as asking for the Title Deeds of the prospective guarantor. They then refused to refund the deposit.
Applicants shouldn't have to be subject to such invasive, unnecessary scrutiny and should be free to withdraw from such an unfair arrangement without penalty. Is this even legal? It certainly shouldn't be!
This is my personal honest opinion and review of my friend's experiences of dealing with JNR Properties.

In my person opinion I would NEVER recommend using JNR Properties.

They treated my friend very badly - after they expressed interest in a flat they sent incorrect documents multiple times, then when asking for a guarantor asked for increasingly invasive information that is totally inappropriate. When they decided to back out they refused to return the £137 holding fee - despite the poor treatment and unreasonable demands.

To improve their service, JNR company director Mehrdad Chegounchei should intervene and review current complaints from unhappy customers who have had their holding fees wrongly withheld. One tenant is owed £137.70 - this should be returned as soon as possible.

JNR Properties were really unprofessional when I tried to rent a flat with them - they sent me loads of inaccurate documents, including a contract with the wrong dates on. I had to chase them for things, it was like they just stopped caring after they'd had my holding fee off me!

I decided to stop pursuing the tenancy after they were so sloppy and asked for my holding fee back (because it's their fault I wasn't able to go ahead with signing the contract) and they refused 😕

Waste of time, waste of money and all-round unpleasant experience (they even demanded the deeds to my dad's house, despite me being a young professional with my own income). Think carefully before you try to rent from JNR.

I’m leaving this review to help people avoid what could be a bad situation when dealing with this agent. JNR Properties haven’t returned a holding fee for a friend of mine, who pulled out of the letting process because of errors from JNR. This has caused a lot of stress and misery for my friend, and while I don’t know if this is a common occurrence I would recommend avoiding JNR Properties. This is my personal, honest opinion and review of experiences from dealing with JNR Properties.

This is my personal, honest opinion and review of experiences from dealing with JNR Properties. JNR Properties have failed to return a holding fee on at least one occasion. I know a prospective tenant who felt they had to withdraw from the process of letting due to errors and inaccuracies on documents from JNR. JNR then failed to return the holding fee of £137.70 - this should be returned as soon as possible. I would recommend avoiding JNR Properties.

This is my personal, honest opinion and review of experiences from dealing with JNR Properties:
JNR Properties have failed to return a holding fee on at least one occasion. I know a prospective tenant who felt they had to withdraw from the process of letting due to errors from JNR, who then failed to return the holding fee. I would recommend avoiding JNR Properties.
I have witnessed JNR Properties repeatedly send documents with inaccurate information, such as contracts with the wrong dates on and receipts with mistakes.
JNR Properties has made what I believe to be unfair demands regarding guarantors for prospective tenants. The company has demanded deeds to the homes of prospective tenants’ family members to validate them as a guarantee. I believe this is a major overstep and an unfair ask.
To improve JNR Properties’ service, the company director Mehrdad Chegounchei should intervene and review current complaints from unhappy customers who have had their holding fees wrongly withheld. One tenant is owed £137.70 - this should be returned as soon as possible.
