Lovely little pub close to the Harwich Ferry. A great place to pull up overnight, where you are able to spend overnight in your campervan before you catch the ferry. Warm and friendly welcome, great place to chat with locals at the bar. Nice little traditional pub menu. Come support a local pub...

We stopped here as a motorhome stopover before reaching the Harwich ferry next day.
What a warm welcome by the owner and staff.
We all had carvery and it was the best we have had for a long time! Fresh, local produce, meat cooked to perfection, potatoes straight out of the ground... Good quality and super tasty!
The motorhome sat fairly level at the back of their ample car park with views over the fields in this quiet English Town.
I love to recommend good places to visit and this is one of those...
Going to Harwich? Have a stop-off here! You won't regret it..

We visited the Bricklayers arms on our last evening in the UK before returning to the Netherlands, and really really loved it. Very nice country pub, with simple and delicious fresh home cooked meals. Just great!! Thank you for having us over!!

Excellent place to stop for meals and drinks before catching the Harwich ferry. It is campervan friendly (do phone ahead if you want a parking spot and arrive before the evening ferry gets in). Delicious pub food and drinks and friendly locals to chat with.

This pub is very old and all can see it is need of restoration. We had Sunday lunch there and it was good food and plenty of it, with the desserts being outstanding. We need to support this (and all our pubs) before it/they completely disappear.

Had a great time here, especially with the owners and the locals who we had a good time spending the night with having some drinks. Very friendly people and the food is top notch. Highly suggest visiting this place when coming through.

Stopped by @ noon sharp on a Sunday & although quiet, (3 other real ale drinkers @ bar!!) the staff/pub was gearing up for @ least 30 people for Sunday dinner!!
I had Mole Trap by Mauldons brewery. Very nice.
