This is one of me and my daughter's favorite cafe/restaurants. Best hot chocolate! The owners are welcoming, friendly and the food is excellent; all fresh, fun ingredients and home cooked. They have almond milk for coffees, allow dogs, have a small patio for outdoor seating in the back and one of my favorite salads to which they add chicken. Nice variety of cakes to eat with coffee or tea. I don't eat gluten and they are aware and completely on-top of when I order. Thank you!
They also serve fresh juices which I love. They don't always have all the ingredients available, but I've never been disappointed with the substitutes.
The ambiance is pleasant, laid back and accommodating. Decoration is pleasant and relaxing. Not over the top. They have sofa chairs and tables if you prefer.

Currently, they are closed Monday and Tuesday which isn't stated on the door.

Every now and again I think of this place, an informal cafe/ bistro where I did some weekend waitressing shifts as a student. I remember how unkindly I was treated, that my £4.50 an hour wage was explained to me as deliberately low as of course I was expected to be tipped for the rest. In a cafe in the daytime that was informal, tipping was rare. The pay wasn't the issue, really all I remember of this place was the meanness. I remember once going upstairs to the kitchen and hearing the supervisor (a South African guy) talking to the owner/chef about me in really horrible terms when he'd told me he was going up there to explain how something had happened on my behalf (a glass had slipped off the counter as it was wet and smashed, risking fragments of glass in one of the tagine dishes, which had to be discarded)...... The point of this review is that even more than ten years on, I remember what a really vile atmosphere it was to work there, for the 3-4 weekends I tried to get on. Why would anyone give their money to such an establishment?

Great place, friendly atmosphere. The owner actually agreed to stay open later for us especially as we were holding a meeting and it went on after their usual closing time (thank you!) There’s even a courtyard at the back for the summer time.

Love love love this place! With their little secret garden in the back, it is a wonderful spot to bring your friends to. The food here is so fresh and homemade, I can't believe it took me two and a half years to find this gem!! It is an intimate setting with the owner as there isn't really a menu to look off of, but that is only because she is a passionate chef that changes the food daily. The prices are very reasonable so don't be afraid! We ended up having a griddled chicken with veggies, an aubergine parmagiana, an avocado bacon and tomato sandwich, and shared the pancake. Everything was so lovely, amazing caramelized veggies with homemade pesto, but what stole the show was the pancake. Out of this world!! It was so fluffy, soft, crunchy layered with maple syrup and fruits. I would eat this everyday if I could! Put complete faith in this amazing chef's hands and you won't be disappointed!

Tasty, home-made meals, really enjoyed the chicken, leek & honey pie. The owner is a great host, passionate about creating her own, original recipes. Returned the next day to have coffee & carrot cake, both were great. Cozy place with friendly staff, would definitely recommend!

Such a hidden gem. Food all made from scratch and fresh to order. Great service and a lovely selection of dishes for a reasonable price. Tip - make a reservation especially for dinner on a weekend.
