Interesting experience.

Sat outside. There was a lot of seating upstairs, however the place is really warm and although some of the windows opened there was not enough blow through.

Given a coffee in a cracked mug (crack down the side of the cup), took it back and was given another coffee poured from the first crack cup!

Very delayed in waiting for the tables drink order, no awareness of what the table had ordered when the food came out and wait staff unsure of what there were carrying to the table!

Ran out of knives on the table and when in to ask for spares, was asked what for!

Okay food, limited chorizo in my “chorizo hash”.

Quite expensive.

My other half, Sue (who is in an electric wheelchair) and I stumbled across this place, as many of the other cafes didn't have wheelchair access. The staff who greeted us (I think his name was Liam) was very friendly, and he moved the chair so Sue could get to the table. He gave us plenty of time to read the menu, and took our order when we were ready.
I had poached egg, mushrooms and toast, and Sue ordered a breakfast (available all day). She asked for something specific with her breakfast, and this was no problem. The food was great - especially the nice, thick toast which was gorgeous, and we were only slightly let down by the eggs, which were a little tasteless. Otherwise, it was great!

The food on offer caters for different tastes (even vegan options, including the gorgeous looking cakes). The prices were quite good for a cafe in the middle of Durham. The decor is quite rustic, and the only other let down was that the toilets are up the stairs on the first floor (no good for Sue). Other than those points, definitely recommended!

Lovely experience. All staff very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and prices fabulous. Would definitely recommend a visit. The cakes looked amazing but just couldn't fit one in!!

We popped in for a cappuccino and something to eat. We both settled on there hand crafted beef burgers. What arrived was far beyond expectations. Without doubt they were the best burgers I've ever tasted. The burger was double thick beef burger, cheese, bacon and egg complete with salad. Also chips and salad. The service was quick and very polite. Lovely surroundings and seems very popular. I would highly recommend a visit if in town

Fabulous choice of dishes, both small and large. Instant service. Breakfast and dinner are available as well as some delicious cakes and brownies.

Stopped by today for some lunch and a hot chocolate. Had the halloumi on sour dough. Very lovely food and reasonably priced. We sat outside because we had dogs but lovely atmosphere inside with nice friendly staff.

Lovely food, but it was a bit cold where we sat on the first floor so I was chilly and the food cooled quickly. Didn't have to wait long for the food though and the waitress who brought it was really nice which made up for the grumpy guy at the counter.
