Sauna & steam rooms were nice and jacuzzi was super warm! The food was divine and would recommend as above afternoon treat.
Absolutely loved the pool, spotlessly clean and well maintained. But a bit chilly until you get used to it, so keep moving. Lovely hot tub and sauna even though we went in on one of the hottest days.
Booked lunch and had a fantastic flat bread with tomato and basil salad, anchovies and hummus. Extremely well presented with "spot on" service. The staff are fantastic.
Not been yet?? Then I suggest that you go.
I've not had food so tasty in many, many years. Too frequent it is to spend good money on vaguely mediocre food, but this place is not that.
Every morsel was bursting with flavour.
Scallops as a starter were >the< finest, and the butter sauce that accompanied the dish was utterly devine. And there was me thinking up until that point that scallops are a bit "meh".
Add a side of freshly baked sourdough bread with oil and balsamic to dip it in = this is a very good start to the evening.
Mains of pan fried cornish hake for her and a seafood stew for me (I really can't remember the name of the dish, and "stew" does it no favours), both of us raptured as we savoured flavour. A terriblly naff phrase I'm afraid but it does fit the moment.
Finally, wood smoked plums with a raspberry coulis and serving of mango sorbet for me, which honestly tasted so rich it could easily have been mistaken for a particularly good ice cream.
And the setting of course - marvellous and unparalleled.
Having demolished an entire bottle of wine to (mostly) myself, I then made a prat of myself by raving to the chef about his cooking wizardry, which he took in good humour and was both startled and flattered when I asked for his photo for this review.
Well done Sir, keep it up, you genius.
