Nice spacious pub, dog friendly and really good staff who were friendly and knowledgeable. The family on the table next to us had diners with a gluten intolerance and the server was able to confidently answer all of their questions. Really enjoyed our meal and stayed a lot longer than intended!

Have always driven past this place and thought it looked nice so today we decided to visit for dinner. We arrived around 5.50pm, asked if there was a table for 2 available - the staff member had to go and ask the kitchen, even though the website states food is served from 12pm-8pm and there was only 1 other table in use when we arrived. We were then seated, I never understand why places have a 'soup of the day' of 'bites of the day', but you are never told what these are when you are seated so you're just left wondering.
We ordered drinks, crazy that a juice is more expensive than an alcoholic drink. The americano we had tasted bitter, perhaps the hot water had been added to the espresso and so burnt it. We ordered starters and mains and was disappointed with what we were served in relation to the price. We don't mind paying extra for nice food, but the goats cheese tart was very small with minimal filling, the battered haddock was more batter than fish and the belly pork was not slow cooked enough as it was very chewy and the peppercorn sauce tasted like someone forgot to add in the peppercorns. Nice looking place, but don't feel the food is worth the money

Lovely ambience and decor, plus exceptional service. The waitress gave my partner a free drink as it was his birthday and then added a candle and message to his dessert without us asking. It was so appreciated. The meat dishes were good and my veggie starter was fantastic, but the veggie main was bland and overlooked compared to the other dishes. Overall though, we had a lovely evening.

I had the privilege of staying at the Guinness Arms on a business trip. I was warmly greeted, booked in with minimal fuss and shown to my room. I was in the Alec room which had memorabilia from Alec Guinness throughout including film posters, photographs and a stamp. I loved the decor and furnishings of the room, which I found to be immaculately clean. It is small but perfect for my needs. I ate in the restaurant for the evening meal and breakfast. The food was flavoursome, well cooked and utilised local ingredients. A great stop over that I will be requesting again when I’m in the area.

Superb xperience, Kayleigh and her staff really looked after us. When you book a dog friendly place you think oh.
This place has outstanding accommodation, outstanding staff and outstanding food on offer. Could not have asked for more

Execellent food and atmosphere. Only improvement would be mobility of servers in relocating to talk with diners vs projecting longways
across a table, otherwise great service :)--I would dine here again!

Great pub in an easy location to access. Lovely food, a good drinks list and fair prices. Also dog friendly!
