I don’t want to give this review, but I feel compelled as this isn’t our first negative experience with this establishment. We have been ordering with this chippy for delivery since they first opened. We enjoyed it for a long time. However, this last couple months or so hasn’t been so great. Tonight, we ordered our food via their own website and they said with their automatic reply it would be 15mins longer, taking it to an hour wait. However, it still hadn’t arrived after another 30 mins so I gave them a call. They said it was with the driver, and in the meantime, the driver had called my son because he was nearby and we directed him. The driver was very apologetic. However, the person on the telephone at the shop wasn’t, seemed surprised id rang, and said it was because they “ARE very busy”. There was no apology or apologetic tone in their voice. And this exact scenario has happened before, with no apology and me getting off the phone feeling like I was being a bother. I’m aware that it may be stressful when busy, but that’s not my fault. It’s also put me off ringing to tell them my concerns. And to top it off, the food was lukewarm, and all of our chips weren’t very nice at all, and the burger buns were hard around the edge. I’m sorry but I always give people a chance for an off day, but having also had orders where items were missing even when on time, I’ve now decided to try somewhere new.

Very unimpressed. The portion sizes are good, but that's about it.
I ordered online, having followed a Google ad that says "save up to 10%" and "some of your favourites for less". It was pre ordered for a specific time. I arrive on time and everything was already bagged and waiting for me. I noticed, however that the price I had paid using the website was significantly higher than the price in the shop. I didn't used uber eat or any of the usual price hiking suspects, this was a website order and so you would reasonably expect shop prices or, in this case 10% less!
The chips, for example are 3.99 online, but only 3.10 in the shop. Surely in a fish and chip shop, chips could reasonably be considered a "favourite" and be subject to the 10% discount, but no. The chips are actually 29% dearer online than instore! I queried this at the time and the reaction was simply "yes I know". I guess many people get caught out with this trick.
Personally I think taking the p### out of your local customers is hardly a good business model.
As for the food, the portion sizes were good but, the chips were cold. The fish tasted ok, it was well seasoned, but the batter was pretty poor.
I've asked the manager to contact me on Monday, when they are next in the shop, to explain the prices and if they do then I will come back and consider my review again but to be honest , I really do recommend you look up robs fish bar instead. You will have to queue for ages as they will be very busy, but perhaps the answer is right there in the length of the queue at robs and the complete lack of a queue here

Had fish &chips from there for the first time .never again this was Sunday lunchtime the batter was a soggy mush which tasted of old oil the chips were obviously reheated and hard .if that's the best moorlands can do then I feel sorry for it's future customers.

After living in the area for 10 months we had 2 favourite chippy’s however… I think we may have a new favourite!

Morland Fish & Chips is tucked away in a residential area with plenty of parking if you are staying in the area. Food is packed in cardboard boxes which help keep everything warmer for longer.

As I walked into the shop I was taken back to childhood memories of fish and chips at the seaside, the smell of food cooking and salt and vinegar was amazing.

Crisp batter, tasty flakes of moist cod & chips were really good - good balance of a soft fluffy inside and firm almost crisp outside.

Portions are generous and there was too much in my Regular Cod & Chips. Next time I will be going for the ‘mini’ portion it would of been plenty, my wife had the mini portion and was also beaten by portion size.

100% recommended

Really huge, crispy, freshly cooked fish and chips, ready in 10 minutes. Best I've had in a long time and served in little cardboard boxes so stayed crispy on the way home. Everyone happy. Will use again this holiday I'm sure. Also convenient parking and next to the convenience store so win win 🏆

We have been going here for over 2 years now and have never up to now had any problems. But, ordered tonight, as usual waited for it to be cooked, sadly unusually the fish tonight was overcooked and very dry.
