The Watermill Bar and Grill

This place is a hidden Gem. They say it has the best beer garden in Yorkshire. But I would say one of the best in the Uk. The food was amazing and the Staff were very helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be back.

First time we’ve visited this restaurant and we were not disappointed, lovely decor and atmosphere inside, we were given the choice of where we’d like to sit which is always nice as opposed to being directed to a table, all staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Food was excellent! Couldn’t believe how much of a nice night we’d had for a very reasonable price. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Terrible! On arrival, we were seated straight away and the waitress then came back for our drinks order. We were ready to order mains, however she said she had two other tables to take orders from, then she'd be back. This has never happened to us before in any restaurant! I wouldn't have said it was busy really either. There were two or three waitresses that just seemed to be wandering around aimlessly.
We finally ordered after about 20 minutes and luckily it wasn't too much longer until the food arrived.
My husband had ordered gammon, and when it arrived it was swimming in grease. We had to use a napkin to soak it all up. Didn't bother to send back as we'd waited long enough to order it and were pretty hungry by this point!
Weird spaghetti bolognese, served with mixed in leaves, probably just to bulk it out and use less meat. Have never had it served like this, even in Italian restaurants.
We didn't get a check back until we'd finished, and we then asked for the bill.
We were shocked to see that a 10% service charge had been added. We did not see anywhere on the way in that stated this would be the case. And after the experience we had, we certainly would not have paid a tip anyway. Maybe that is why they add it in the first place?
Would definitely not recommend, drive a bit further done the road, and you'll find somewhere better!

Though I'd write this before I forget, had works party last night at the watermill venue, as typical brits being drunk before scran gets served and the chaos that we was causing by jumping table to table the staff that served us food where amazing, always smiling, being patient with us and as a chef I would have snapped all day long, atmosphere (good band) was great and brilliant layout. Food was brilliant, so much much better than I expected so compliments to the chefs that night. Brilliant. Nothing negative and 100% recommended to everyone else. Thank you.

Had a very good meal last night, we were made to feel very welcome even before we entered by a staff member outside. And when we entered we were instantly greeted with a smile and a welcome. Our waitress was incredibly attentive to our 3 year old son. The food was incredible worth every penny and great that you can see it being made in the kitchen, I couldn’t manage it all but didn’t want to waste any of it was very tasty so they put it in a takeaway pot for me. A hidden little gem with a visit.

Absolutely beautiful meal..cooked to perfection and served by lovely friendly staff. Head chef came out and spoke with customers...he wont be disappointed with the feedback. Definitely be back and definitely worth a visit!

What a lovely place service was great food was really tasty would definitely eat here again if I was in the area I have fished at woodlands many times but never visited the watermill we are staying in a log cabin so called in for our tea glad we did
