We had a wonderful stay at the Managers House. It was great to arrive to a freshly baked sponge, still one of the very best I've ever had! It was a warm and peaceful house, really well equipped and in a superb location. The garden is lovely to sit out in. There are great walks right from the doorstep. The local towns are all worth exploring. An added bonus was under cover parking.
Jonathan and Jane were excellent hosts, with just the right amount of interaction. We love the area and hope to be back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Manager's House. Jonathan greeted us even though it was very late and Jane had baked us a wonderful cake. The house is very comfortable, clean, has everything you could ever need and is in a great location. We loved the log burner and the peace and quiet. Thank You

We had the most amazing stay at The Managers House and thoroughly recommend it. The cottage is very well equipped and the log burner made it really cosy. Jonathan and Jane were wonderful hosts and extremely accommodating, even when we asked if we could bring two well-behaved guinea pigs (in their hutch of course!). We will be back!

We love visiting the Peak District and staying in the Manager's House, it will be our 11th visit there in May 2018 and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else as it is a lovely peaceful location with stunning views over the fields with just sheep or cows as your neighbours. There are walks straight from the cottage over Gratton Dale, Middleton-by-Youlgreave, Youlgreave itself and Robin Hood's Stride, as well as short car drives to yet more fantastic scenery with the towns of Bakewell, Hartington and Carsington Water nearby and if you are feeling adventurous then further afield to climb Kinder Scout. Alternatively you can just sit in the garden and enjoy the peace and quiet. Over the years, we have stayed there during Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, celebrating the New Year in with the snow!!. Loved the log fire on those cold nights!! Such a warm welcome received from Jane and Jonathon every time we visit, along with a home-made cake and tea when you arrive, there is nothing they will not do for you to make your stay there amazing and stress free. The Manager's House has a real "home from home" feel and is probably the "most" well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in and if you need something extra, then Jane and Jonathon will get it for you. Every time we leave there, our dog "sulks", he loves it just as much as we do, so we cannot wait to return again in May to relax and be spoilt with Jane and Jonathon's amazing hospitality.

Outstanding cottage, at which we have enjoyed numerous holidays. Well furnished and in the winter the wood burning stove is very welcome. The location is very peaceful in a valley with excellent stargazing opportunities. Many circular walks available from the cottage. Good shops at Bakewell and Matlock.
