The worst stay I have ever had in my life. The walls had holes in them, massive damp patch on on the floor, dust everywhere. Asked to speak to a manager and the lady that spoke to us said well what do you want me to do about it. I honestly don’t understand how they are running a business speaking to people like that. I understand it’s a budget hotel but the service was absolutely disgusting, not even worth the cheap price , do not bother spending your money here!! Was not even allowed to speak to the general manager.

Do not stay at this hotel! I arrived at 9:20pm and was flatly refused check-in because 8pm is last check-in. Putting aside that is insanely early limit, there is absolutely no mention of this policy of lastminute.com the bar manager Stephanie (bar manager) condescendingly said it was mentioned 3 times before I booked - this is a flat out lie - go see for yourself on the website. There is no mention of it as you book, I have the screenshots. Michael (bar staff) told me it was in my booking confirmation, when I showed that it wasn't they just kept repeating the same lines to me. Stephanie said she could show screenshots proving you are warned when you book, she could not produce them, they do not exist - again, see for yourself. So i was kicked onto the street to find another hotel, when i told them what had happened they said it was the tip of the iceberg with problems at that hotel. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

BEWARE!!!

We booked for 2 nights and were fully charged in advance. We arrived 6 minutes past check in time and the bar man not only refused to let us check in but also informed us they would cancel our booking as a no show and sell it to someone else. He told us we would be refunded for the second night but they later did not. We were left stranded with everywhere fully booked despite there being an empty paid for room. Having read the reviews below I noticed this has happened to several people. Terrible customer service and no indication that 8pm onwards will refuse check in despite being open as a bar.

We couldn't get the first day booked due to rail strike but the staff were very understanding . We booked in next day and the guy that booked us in was pleasant, polite and helpful. I have mobility issues the room we were allocated was ideal for my use. I've just booked in for another 2 nights early next month. Clean and comfortable bed what more do you want for a short stay .

Rooms are very basic... This is like a hostel. You can hear people chatting in neighbouring rooms, showers are on or off - and very very hot. Beds are squeaky. Room smells slightly of cigarettes. However it's clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and it's well situated.

Absolute bargain. Room was clean, towels fresh. Worth the money.

25th September family party down the road from the hotel. Spotlessly clean, staff went over and above their pay grade to accommodate my mum who need a room on the lower level. Huge old historic building again super clean fab adjacent pub with great cocktails n pizza. Definitely be back. Your all doing a great job 👏
