Wonderful shop with staff who clearly know their stuff. So glad this shop is around. Start rite shoes are great for children who wear shoe insoles but there is so much more involved when it comes to doing a fitting. These ladies we're great. Thank you for all your help. Xxx

Fantastic customer service. Thankyou so much to the very patient professional lady and wonderful chap who had to deal with my lovely but flip flop/trainer wearing 4 year old grandson on his fitting for his school shoes who objected strongly. Mission accomplished as when he walks into the classroom on Monday - properly fitted comfortable shoes will be on his feet! Thankyou once again

Excellent service in Godalmings only shoe shop. A wide variety of makes and styles with cheerful assistants to help. Children's feet are measured and top advice to buyers. Timberland and Ecco to name a few makes are in stock along with all the appropriate sprays and cleaners. Super shop.

Excellent customer service. I found them really friendly & helpful when I was trying to match shoes to an outfit. I will certainly go back to Robert Carder Shoes next time I need shoes.

This is very good traditional shop. Quality shoes, classic brands and good service. I have discovered this shop two years ago and I can't stop going back. I drive 30 miles from Hampton to go there because you cannot find similar quality or service in Richmond or Kingston anymore.

My favourite shoe shop! They have popular brands like Ecco and Clarks but also some more unusual brands that you can't buy elsewhere locally, all at competitive prices. Excellent service - efficient and friendly and the staff go the extra mile for you even when it's busy.

This shop does not except returns. Vey expensive boots were purchased, unworn and not faulty, but now I cannot return them. Pretty sure this is against the consumer credit act. Spoke to the owner on the phone and asked if a swap could be made if they ordered the boots in the red- i was told they don't make these boots in red....as I sat and looked at the very same boots in red, online. When I pointed this out he backtracked and said they were too expensive to order in.
Also as a side note to the owner; the whole point of a shoe shop is to try on multiple pairs when deciding what to buy. Also people don't like being pressured into making a purchase. I was made to feel as if I had put you out by having the audacity to try on 4 pairs of boots and then not buy them! You must have pointed out at least 10 times just how indecisive I was and how I MUST return and buy them and leave you photo evidence. You did this in thinly veiled jest and I laughed along out of politeness- but it wasn't funny, and i didn't appreciate it. Really wish I hadn't returned to buy those boots after all.

Will not be returning.
