ScS - Sofa Carpet Specialist

Had a fantastic experience at the Tollgate Colchester store. The staff there did not harass or hound you at all. They helped and provided relevent information and left us to enjoy choosing a new sofa. Once we had made our own minds up the payment was quick and simple. Cannot wait until it's delivered!

Lovely and clean place with friendly and polite members of staff who was so helpful and knowledgeable when I asked a million questions (well only about 10) All round a good place for furniture and carpets at competitive prices.

Went to SCS for my mums carpets. In store team were fantastic.
When it came to surveying, they messed up the measurements, so we didn't get one of the rooms fitted. Have been waiting 2.5 weeks so far and still without a fitting date. Walking around on the carpeted rooms and I can feel lumps where they didn't sweep. Also left all off cuts & roll of carpet that didn't fit for my mother's bedroom for my for my mum to clean up. Asked for my money back and they are denying a refund because of the roll of carpet I threw away (roll that didn't fit my mother's bedroom) due to being left in my kitchen.
Fitters have also broken a bed and a clothes airer and store are denying liability due the guys being sub contractors.
In store salesman - fantastic
Surveyors - absolutely terrible
Fitters - nice guys but slap and dash sub contractors
Store manager - rude
Materials used - brilliant quality
I would strongly recommend getting your carpets fitted elsewhere.

Went to pick up a carpet which I needed to be folded to fit in my car. Staff stated they cannot help me fold it due to liability if it’s damaged even with my full consent. I had to proceed to fold a huge carpet in my own to fit into my car. Ridiculous policy.

Waited for 12 weeks and had two different arrival dates set for our new sofa to be delivered to have gotten a call the day before my sofa was meant to come to say that it wasn’t and that only half the sofa was ready and we were guaranteed that it would be here before Christmas according to the guy we spoke to and to find out that they have now shut for Christmas, so now we have to wait even longer for our sofa to turn up and haven’t even been given a temporary one for the inconvenience

Not shopped there before but had a pleasant experience. Jodie the assistant was very helpful and friendly. It was more expensive than I thought but got the sofa we wanted

What a lovely shop! We spoke to a gentleman called Matt who showed us around the store and priced some sofas up for us.

At the outset we said we wasn't in a position to buy the sofa that day as our house is yet to be built. Matt understood this but still helped us.

We picked our sofa and will be going back to buy it shortly!

Amazing service. All members of staff were so helpful and incredibly patient with us and our son who has learning difficulties they was all so helpful and understanding we found the perfect sofas for our family. Could not recommend shopping at this place enough.
