Popped in to WhSmith to return a faulty item I bought online. Was told I can't return to store because I bought online, item needed to be posted back to store. Just looked on website and found this in the help section. So much for contradicting their own policies. I did show them dispatch email as proof of purchase and they still refused to take the item back. You lost a customer now WHSmith. Won't be shopping with you again.

Really disappointing experience. I popped in to buy some wrapping paper and other items. I was struggling to carry everything. The shop assistants seemed to view me as an inconvenience and insisted I use the self service station even though the items were right in front of them at the counter. They did the same with the next customer who had two young kids to also look after. You have to wonder why the shop was completely empty and Amazon is taking over. I think the experience today explains it, next time I’ll buy items online.

I've been there few times, and never felt like the staff was friendly at all. Last time I went I had to wait 15 minutes outside (due to the maximum capacity of the store because of COVID, fair enough) but after 25 minutes waiting inside because only one person was serving, I approached another member of staff (in a kind way) to ask if she could help serving and she was just so rude to me! From now on I'll walk a little bit more but will not have to be treated like this for no reason.
School Supplies are everywhere. Not very organise. This place needs improvement

Local WHSmith is now Incorporated with the Post Office. A wide range of stationaries picked up a few little sweets and snacks also. there it's still priced reasonably for most items.

Has all the stationery items and the latest books you need. A wide variety of novels on the ground floor and a wide variety of pens on the first floor. However there is a shortage of staff and might have to wait a little to be served.
