Absolutely appalling service experienced on several occasions and by different Staff members : once I asked for a magazine (the layout changed and I thought they stopped selling it) and the Assistant was shouting across the Store over my head and ignored me.
On another occasion I used the self checkout and the till wouldn't dispense change so I was missing a 5£note. Thankfully the receipt was printed but a very rude ignorant individual spent about 10 minutes reading the piece of paper like if it was a 7000 words essay and kept asking me how much did I pay and was I sure no money come out. I said I was happy for them to cash it up or check the subtotal taking and I was thinking to myself I will have to go outside and grab a Police Officer to get my fiver back 🤣
I had to wait for another member of Staff to join us in this parody and eventually I was sent to another till where I had to wait further for someone to finally give me the change..
I needed a stiff drink when I walked out and I kept thanking the Lord for not being related to anyone working in that shop 🤷‍♀️

Ran in to grab a sandwich for my 4 hour train journey only to find it had gone off! Dry grey ham is not pleasant at all. Lucky I only had one bite before noticing the awful taste....

WH Smith at Paddington Station has the friendliest staff. Except a woman, who I think is the manager cause she does not wear the purple uniform behind the counter who glares at me like I destroyed her life or something.

Just want to shout out for the fabulous security guard who was on duty 4th Oct at 8am.
He was a real help to me. I needed a charger lead but left my phone in the hotel. He also had a Samsung so was able to ensure I got the right one. He also went through two different ones telling me the benefits.
Chose one, back to hotel, perfect.
Didn't get his name. But well done to that guy. Great service

I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation to Nadira who is a team captain of WH Smith (Paddington Station). Her help and kindness to customers are a pride of the store!

I usually go into a WH Smiths and am on and out as quick as possible, it always feels like being watched. I went in and was greeted by Daniella who was very helpful, and friendly. Gave great recommendations of books, planning not to buy I left with three. If you want a friendly chat with great knowledge hope Daniella is in store.

I purchased some faulty headphones from another station the day prior, and wanted to exchange. As Paddington is on my way to work (and return) I would rather avoid going further out especially during covid... they said as 'its been used, you have to return to the original store.'
Obviously I'll have to use a product to know if it works or not! Also, what kind of business of this size would ask a customer spending £200 send the customer another branch even though its the same business and sell the same headphones?

I spoke with customer service who have said they have no information about store policies.

I ended up having to go out of my way to the original store for a return. I for this reason will absolutely avoid all purchases from WH Smith (I would on average spend £50 a week, but my policy prevents me from buying products from any company that are overpriced with no customer service to justify the price)

I was accused of stealing Pringles here and had the police called on me. The police checked the security cameras and of course I was innocent. I didn’t even get an apology from the staff member that falsely accused me.
