Visited the store this morning so my daughter could use her £1 world book day. She chose the book from the correct stand. Went to the checkout where I was asked for £3.99. When I said it was on the stand for world book day I was then told it had been put it wrong place. I stated there was one more than one copy. Sales assistant just said " nothng I can do" my 8 year old daughter was very dissapointed and chose another that she didn't really want. Very dissapointed with the customer service

WH Smith Ruislip is listed on the DHL website as being a drop off/mailing point for DHL letters/parcels. Two young ladies were left in charge of the shop, hadn't been trained and had absolutely no idea what to do. Not their fault - but very bad service.

Pleasant, helpful staff, decent range, nice to see the high street still going.

They now sell some manga here and have redone a lot of the store, so they now sell a much larger range of books, alongside the stationary, cards, newspapers, and drinks and snacks that they have always had.

Went to buy some books and stationary. Angela served me- told me the book offers and helped me with getting the things I was looking for. I received excellent service. Good selection of books and study materials. Really big area for cards. Has stationeries and sweets! Highly recommend.

Good selection of cards hence reason for visit (and the 1 star), HOWEVER horrible manager who clearly hasn't been to charm school, hiding behind her screen and barking orders. No greeting, no delight at having a rare customer in the shop - dont know why they bother staying open if so ungrateful for customers. Maybe it's a corporate training/directive issue as the ruislip manor branch quickly fell out of favour and closed.

Personally, you'd be better going to the newsagents or post office a few doors down for cards or to the works for stationary - at least these shops are staffed by pleasant people who are appreciative to have your custom in such tough times.

If you really must shop here, avoid midweek and try saturday when they are usually staffed by happy kids enjoying the experience.
