Iceland Supermarket Letchworth Garden City

I did shopping in the Letchworth SG6 Iceland store and was very surprised as to how rude the cashier was. I spent over £50 and purchased some deal bundles which stated if you bought 2 together it would give a discount. I also asked for a replacement carrier bag as mine had worn. The bag clearly says when worn it would be replaced.
Cashier (Lauren) was very rude about it and said that I had to pay 25p for a new one. When I said politely that bag says do not throw away when worn, it will be replaced. She just rolled her eyes up and shouted to a staff member in the shop if the bag could be replaced. She was told yes. She was not happy about changing the bag as she snatched my worn one and chucked it in the bin and mumbled the bags are cheap. She also scanned the replacement bag. I asked her to check if the promotional curries were discounted and she looked on screen and said the discount does not apply as I have not provided an Iceland Bonus card. I explained that the deals are listed on top of the fridge and that there is no mention of bonus card. I also said that I had made the same purchase a few days ago and did not have to provide a bonus card. She was very rude and said she would call for the manger. He then came up to the till and proceeded to press buttons on till & looked at the items that were scanned. He went over to the fridges to check and then told Lauren that a promotion applies and no bonus card is needed. He did the adjustments and did not apologise. He walked off. I asked Lauren if she had charged me for the carrier bag? She said. “I had replaced it haven’t I why would I charge you. You got it free! She said this in a horrid sarcastic tone. I could not believe it. I just wanted to get out from the store and felt so upset. I put my items in my car and checked my ticket.
Clearly I had been charged 25p for the carrier bag, instead of having it replaced. I felt that Lauren was having a bad day and took her problems out on me.
I tend to always check the deals when making the purchase as I found the Iceland do not always put the deals through the system as I have been over -charged on other occasions. I was very unhappy to be treated in the way Lauren did as her voice an attitude was so bad and her body language too. She looked liked she wanted to attack me. I will not be returning to the store ever again. I did send Iceland an email to complain and also rang the manager and sent a letter to head office. I did not get reply to any of my letters and it has been over 6 weeks. I would have expected an apology. I will never return to the Iceland in Letchworth ever again.

It's an Iceland supermarket. The difference is that the young team at this store are extremely welcoming, kind and helpful.

Opening times incorrect on Google for the festive period.....not open until 8pm as stated on the regular days between Xmas and new year
