Tesco Extra

I went to this Tesco on a Sunday afternoon about 3pm. I'm thinking this accounted for the number of items out of stock. I went for a chicken apart from a free range one which was about 8quid. I did find some bargains in the frozen ready meals isle.. with quite a few items down to 65p. I might have to go back again to get a truer reflection of this store. There is plenty of free parking.. and petrol station, pharmacy and optician all under one roof.

Large Tesco opened in 2001. I think I went at the wrong time really, late Sunday afternoon and after the beast from the east had been and gone. This meant availability was not what I would expect and the items I went out for were not there.

There’s a cafe, a pharmacy, petrol station.

Didn’t interact with anyone on the shop floor, but the lady on the checkout was friendly and helpful.

I didn’t realise that they were open until 5 on a Sunday, it’s worth knowing for future reference.

Just wanted to say how impressed I was with one of your staff members today. Andrew was putting out all the sarnies and snacks this morning and I couldn't find what I was looking for. I interrupted him and asked if he could tell me if a product I wanted to buy was about to be put on the shelves as I couldn't locate it. Despite being busy, Andrew didn't hesitate to help me and was really friendly and informative, he made me feel like asking him for assistance wasn't an inconvenience, even though I probably was! Well done Tesco for employing good staff.

Horrible customer service. I have just spent more than £70 and I forgot to use a £6 off voucher when you spend more than £60. After paying, I remembered it and I have immediately asked costumer service if they could apply the voucher. Other places like Sainsbury's have done it in the past without any issue, however the lady at customer service told me that Tesco cannot do that. She also suggested to spend other £60. I guess this is a good reason to avoid Tesco in the future.

Dreadful
A lot of the time the products don’t scan in at the prices stated on the tickets even when you scan your club card
The self checkout machines cannot scan club cards from the mobile app
The prices are high compared to places like Aldi and the fresh products don’t last as long as Aldi
There are pointless barriers near the exit which don’t open from the inside so if you’ve just gone to customer service to grab a quick meal deal you can’t walk out unless someone is coming to the barriers the other side.
The Tesco cafe is consistently rubbish which is why I’ve stopped going.
The staff on self checkouts aren’t fully trained on how to fix issues when they arise.

It’s interesting how a German supermarket operating down the road is rated better than one founded in Britain. Has it really come to this that it takes the Germans to come to your back yard and show us how to run a supermarket properly. Unfortunately it has come to that.

Massive store massive choice massive car park and thankfully reasonable prices. Very nearly all you need here. Staff helpful and enough to help when needed. Queues to pay not too bad this time.

Tills are becoming an issue. Reduced number of manned tills and queues at self serve tills getting longer. Scan as you shop often 'out of order'

Massive Tesco, great selection staff are always polite and helpful. Would give 5 starts but they need more staff in the pharmacy. The question for that are always long. Not due to incompetence, they just need more staff to help with the increased workload
