M&S Simply Food

Rude member of staff. I was firmly belittled for seeking to use the staffed rather than self-service checkout. I have never experienced such rude customer service within an M&S before. The particular operative needs to attend a customer service course.

Selected the 4 items for the kids meal deal (tiny packet of sandwiches, carton of juice, the snack being a packet of percy and penny biscuits and a banana from the other end of the shelves as none at this section of the shop) I did this for 2 kids so 8 items which should have been £8 (a happy meal would have been cheaper) the staff rang it into the till as £8.80 and told me bananas weren't the selected fruit and they didn't have any fruit for that deal so I was getting it cheaper, when I said but the bananas are the fruit he put his has to his face and repeated but they aren't fruit for the deal and I was getting it cheaper whilst rolling his eyes....80p isn't much I know but on what was on offer for the deal isn't worth £8 to start with, the sandwiches weren't fresh, there was no other choice but the biscuits and no fruit available and then the attitude of the staff was appalling. M&S not impressed with your shop or service at all!

I just bought my lunch from this store (pasta salad) only to discover they were out of forks on my way out-not a huge problem but as I was grabbing a wooden spoon and a couple of napkins I witnessed one staff member reaching town to the plastic guard in front of the cutlery stand and picking out 4/5 wooden spoons which had fallen into it... and proceeding to put them back into the cutlery tray. The plastic guard was in a disgusting state-full of dust and dirt. I questioned the staff member about it and her response was “they weren’t on the floor, they were just in there”, signalling to the guard, and clearly not phased at all by hygiene standards!! Needless to say I told her it was disgusting and left my spoon on top of the stand-god knows where it’s been 🤢 Don’t think I’ll be back, thanks!

Mislabel pricing. Had price for smaller lemonade against a larger bottle. Needed to check bottle size to understand why I was charged more. Come on M&S, that is false advertising. Staff member totally unhelpful.

Lots of self service checkout. Not many promotions. They didn't have wine in small bottles. Good choice of doughnuts. Everything was very expensive. Fruits were not fresh at all.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was easy to navigate around showing how excellent this store is. I will definetly be coming back here regularly 😁

The staff are very friendly, the customer service is really good and the staff are very helpful. Lots of choices in the store you can buy and this store is well organised.

Closed, again! Saturday night, 11pm and the open 24h M&S is once again closed!
