Big Mistake! Shop assistant just rudely dismissed me ! Seeing that the argument going nowhere I asked for a manager or the shop owner and was told to come back next day. I went back which was Another Big Mistake maybe even Bigger ! The shop owner even didn’t try to listen to me ! Within minutes he got agitated and aggressive. All my pleads to calm down and try to solve the problem peacefully made him even more angry. He ended up yelling Get Out ! When I mentioned complaint he shouted do whatever you want! Get out! Go ! I was shooshed out of the shop like a dog.
Now well, not everything is about the money in this world, those £2.0 would not make neither of us richer. No matter how Grand the owner of the Brentford Costcutter shop I don’t think he has any rights to treat people in this manner. I have always thought that the very essence of retail enterprise is customer satisfaction well probably for this shop it is just simple greed
I hope you will find this review helpful and hopefully your experience with this shop will be different from mine.
We walked the 0.4miles up the road to the costcutter with 6 charity donation bags we were sending to Thrift. When we arrived an incredibly rude young woman stated that there "are too many bags" and they do not accept those bags and that we must take them to Rymans. When we stated that the website had sent us there she stated that "she does this all the time and we dont". I then rechecked the confirmation email to which she agreed they would accept the bags. An older male then came to came to process the label. Once the 1st label was printed he asked if we had sellotape. I said no that we didn't but the website had said that we didn't need any. He then pushed the bag with the label towards me and said I must take the label and bag away and come back when I had attached them. I said we live over a km away and he said that "wasn't his problem". I tried to show him the email from thrift and collect+ that states he is supposed to afix the label but he refused to read it and said I should phone the company if I have a problem with it. My husband then asked if they sell sellotape which he then said yes. So we had to purchase sellotape from his store and afix it ourselves before we could utilise the service. i would've preferred to just leave but i was exhausted from carrying them there and really couldn't walk back with them.
I am really upset that we were treated in such a disgusting way when we were only trying to donate clothes to charity. It appears that they genuinely hate helping anyone using the service.
Stay far away if you can. Really terrible, mean, agressive people. (Reading some of their responses to other peoples complaints and its clear that they enjoy fighting with people)
But alas this is Brentford not a wealthy area.
Basic economics: better value= more customers, more customers =more sales, more sales = more profit. They should try it, the community would be pleased.
