Tesco Superstore

Great store right in the middle of Burnham On Sea so very easy to access wherever you are. Very nice bakery and small clothing section at the back. Self tills and pack as you go aswell as normal tills so something for everyone's preference. Nice place to get the essentials and more!

This Tesco has a strange barrier system to get in and out of the shop which has made it difficult to get to the self scanners very easily. Other than that, it's a great shop that's almost always well-stocked with good quality products.

I usually shop at a closer supermarket, something's I can only get at Tesco like sugar free jam. Their no sugar added squash costs over double than comparable supermarkets.

Got accused of shoplifting even though they saw us buy it and no one helped us when the self scan checkout wasn’t working

Scan and shop should save time BUT not here. All tills can be used to scan shopping not already scanned so long queues. What’s the use of scanning while you shop when you still have to queue? Please supply Scan&shop only machines for the scanners. Sainsbury supply both checkouts.

Huge store with plenty of choice. Very clean and tidy. Nice cafe.

Used to be a good store -
Now often out of lots of items.
Freezers and fridges often broken down.
Insufficient staff restocking.
Insuffucient tills open, even when the store is very busy.
Staff very nice but there are always too few of them.
In the Summer it's even worse when there are lots of holiday makers staying in the local area.

This isn’t a review of the Tesco supermarket but rather of the new Yo Sushi joint they’ve put in the back, replacing the previously beloved fishmonger (which hardly opened to begin with!).
I love Sushi. This isn’t sushi. The rice is beyond chewable and far too sticky. Funnily enough you’d think sticky and hard rice would keep the rolls together? Well you’d be surprise to find some of the rolls falling apart.
The fish itself is completely flavourless and I get the feeling it’s far from fresh.
The avocado is always a grimy looking colour. Probably leftovers that didn’t sell in the fruit and veg isle.
I will say that the Kaizo seaweed salad is very nice but unfortunately riddled with E-numbers. Take that as you will.
There is however, one option that will leave you satisfied - the Korean spicy chicken which, funnily enough is neither Korean, nor Spicy. Simply rebranded KFC chicken in a sweet chilli sauce.
I don’t really care for this Yo Sushi joint’s existence. But the fact that they got rid of the old fishmonger for this is a slap in the face. Will be going to other supermarkets for fish. And definitely to an actual sushi restaurant for actual sushi.
