Great visit very clean products easy to find.self serve made experience much better and quicker.staff attended promptly

Lidl on Maes y coed rd, Cardiff I must say went beyond the call of duty tonight. I called in to buy the bargain of the month,a garden/patio furniture set for only £200. It being a very bulky item I asked for some assistance in getting it to the till. Not only did they take it to the till, they noticed my mobility issue and insisted on taking it to the car and loading it in the back for me and my daughter. Excellent service and price.

As with all Lidl's, if you want to make anything out of the ordinary you'll likely need to pick up a few odds and ends elsewhere.

It's not uncommon for them to be sold out of pretty standard essentials

On the plus side, it's a very neat and tidy store with an oddly premium feel

And, it has self service checkouts so, no waiting around in absurdly long queues. This is a major plus for me, personally

On 09/18/2022 I went to the Lidl store (Splot), I bought several things, including a pack of 3 beef steaks for £3.49. When I got to the house and opened it, the smell it gave off was rotten. I went back to the store, I asked to speak with the manager (Mac), he attended me, I showed him the open pack, I told him to smell it, he didn't want to, he asked if he wanted the money or another similar product, I said yes, that I wanted an equal pack, for the same price. He picked up a similar pack as he went to write a note I asked him to. Before leaving, I opened the pack in front of him and "it was also rotten", I told him to smell it and he said no. So I opted for a refund of what I had paid and bought a pack of salmon.
I think this is a bad precedent for an international store where I leave part of the monthly salary.

Decent store who has the general basics, but if you need anything special, you'll have to go elsewhere. Fruits and veggies are usually excellent. Same with bakery, although they run out very quickly. The self-checkout is great and the staff helps quickly if something pops up.

Been shopping here for years. It's a great Lidl, very tidy and well managed, feels clean and well looked after. Nice staff, Derek and Sue in particular are brilliant and always give excellent service - we always pick the till they're on of they're on duty.
