Lidl

Normally shop at Aldi in Ross on Wye, but thought I would look at changing to Lidl. So with a full shopping trolley, pence shy of £100, and my 4 yr old Granddaughter, behaving well in the trolley, I went through the check out to be challenged by the checkout lady over a banana my granddaughter had eaten from the remaining 4 I was buying. Anyone who has an autistic child, will understand that sometimes, you need to use whatever tactics you can to get round a supermarket as calmly as possible so usually, a banana does the trick and I ask for a banana to be put through twice. But today, the assistant said twice to me "bananas are a weighed product" speaking to me like I was stupid. Perhaps she wanted me to get my granddaughter to bring it back up? I appreciate some may argue this is not appropriate to do but the way I see it, a supermarket benefits from me filling my trolley rather than dashing out with very little. Of all the other supermarkets I never have an issue. Unfortunately I snapped and told her to put the largest banana through twice and she eventually did so. It wasn't my greatest moment to be rude. It hugely irritated me, the miserly and pedantic approach to this situation. Go to Morrisons and they give your child free fruit as you shop. Not expecting Lidl to follow but just so fed up with large money grabbing organisations demonstrating complete greed. So, guess what Lidl, you've just lost a high paying customer.

Shocking state of store,very very poor availability and cleanliness.beggars belief that there is absolutely no urgency or focus in these Discount stores to replenish shelves.Your in the business of selling for goodness sake.you need to put stock on shelves for customers to buy it.Try it you will ne surprised to see more money in the tills.

Good location for a supermarket. Ample free parking. The staff are really helpful and the prices are fair.
My only issue (which is beyond the control of the staff in the shop) is that the supply is so haphazard. It’s nearly impossible to get the same staple items week by week due to supply issues on their end.

Easy to park and 4 checkouts open so only a little wait. Fruit and Vegetables low stock after Bank Holiday weekend, which is expected.

We have been to Lidl, Monmouth on several occasions but this morning we were served by Mollie. She was a very pleasant young lady, very helpful, friendly and good at her job. Well worth a mention!!!

Lovely quiet, well stocked and organised Lidl. The team on the tills were really friendly and good too.

Great product, Lidl price, free items included in your fruit and veg. Open bakery products. Don't shop here often, usually only for toothpaste.

Great supermarket, sells some stuff that is hard to get anywhere else.
