I am still waiting for a collection due before 1 (between 8-1) and have taken the morning off, On phoning them (they didn't call me! I am informed it could be any time today, and furthermore they are not able (willing?) to call the driver for more information. I will never donate further to this badly run, badly organised and disrespectful shop. Which is a real shame as donating a top class Tetrad sofa and am a long term supporter.

Don't waste your time!

Really messed us around, avoid. Called in on Sunday 3/12 to offer a good quality Belgian made leather 3-piece suite with solid oak frames. Two guys enquired about the fire certificates. We had already taken photos of these along with the pieces themselves that were accepted. Arranged for the items to be collected on Sat 9/12 before 1pm. Got a call from a foreign sounding guy around 1130 to say they were on their way. His English was poor and he broke off mid-sentence whilst I was still asking if he needed directions. Arrived about 15 minutes later. Walked in with another foreign guy but hardly said anything to me. Took a few photos and seemed to be querying the fire certification. Tried to explain we’d already provided photos of those but he didn’t appear to understand. Then he said he needed to check something and would come back later, got into the van and drove off. On checking the form he’d left, I discovered the items had been rejected but they’d not given a reason. Worse, they implied they’d come back later but obviously had no intention. I phoned up to find out what was going on and was just met with indifference with the reason being given that there were a few white paint spots present. Honestly! This was extremely picky as any that can be seen are the size of a pin head. Generally, the suite is in much better condition than many we saw in the showroom the previous weekend. I wouldn’t have minded had they been honest about the rejection. Plus, don’t send guys around who can’t speak the language! I’m not being racist here and actually have a foreign girlfriend. We’ve now given the suite to another source who are very pleased with it. I won’t be going back here to donate or buy in future.

It is so infuriating !
Just imagine having two most rude strangers into your house to collect some furniture (after waiting for 6 hrs ! ) They took some pics..said nothing ....
Held up traffic...refused to park on the lay-by or on our drive !
Some mutterings about fire regulation stickers which they clearly missed !
Went into the garage to collect the TV
Saying nothing..then drove off!!! Our bespoke sofa and arm chair were made for us and they are of far better quality than what we saw in your shop !

The previous time - they rejected a Laura Ashley leather sofa claiming it is too “old “
Well, it was sold at another charity shop for £165 within a few days ! The person liked the seasoned
leather look

If you have a choice, try another charity body.

Very helpful staff and a wonderful cause. But they are hamstrung by health and safety rules and much of what I offered was rejected, though another charity close by did accept the items. Amongst the rejected items were a wall mounted bookcase, ceiling chandelier lights, bathroom stools, and a foot spa still in its box. Hey ho.

Wish I had read these reviews first. We had the 2 unsympathetic men come to our house. They rejected a £300 almost immaculate IKEA bed package because of a small stain on the mattress which I had not seen, and not been told to check for. I am not disputing stain but BHF/I could have cleaned it in 5 minutes. They wouldn't take the immaculate £200 metalframe without mattress even though it is a single, easy to get a new one, some buyers would prefer. Waited 2 weeks tripping over bed in hall to do our bit for charity, feel disillusioned, now destined for landfill. It's all very well that they then reply to reviews with a half-baked apology, the fact is they do NOT make it clear the (rude) driver is only coming around on spec and will most likely deem your previously-discussed items unworthy.
