You can exit only from first 4 coaches, but it's not announced at all or only when you're nearly at the station. I learned it hard way as I missed the station and had to get a taxi. Travelled again in two parts train, they announced it electronically (No chance to spot unless you're watching it) AFTER Royston, all platforms are short after Royston, so if you're in the second part of the train, you can't cross to the first part of the train anymore.
