I use Hedge End once every couple of months to travel to London. The car park (council-owned) is a decent size, but during the week it can be very busy. I think it's about £3 for the day (which you can pay using Ring-go), but at the weekends it is free. The ticket office seems to have limited hours. There is no toilet. There are now two ticket machines on the Eastleigh-bound side, but none on the Portsmouth-bound side. There are shelters on both platforms. There is easy level access from the car park onto the Eastleigh-bound platform, however level access Portsmouth-bound is via a footpath off of Shamblehurst Lane.

I use this station every day to get to and from work. They just built new shelters which is good, but being a very small station it is basic and has no toilets or anything like vending machines, so it isn't fun when your train is delayed or you have a long wait. Bring a book, and go to the toilet beforehand. Town centre is a long way away so you will probably miss your train if you try to walk there and back.

Little station with quite a lot of parking. Ticket office is only open am. There are no lifts only a bridge to cross the tracks. No cafe on the station, but a coffee van is just outside in the morning selling good but inexpensive coffee - recommended.

Small train station, plenty of parking spaces, £3,5 a day which I think it's reasonable. Ticket office and self ticket machines available as well as a waiting room. Couldn't see toilet facilities.

Nice little station with hourly services to London and Portsmouth (every 30 mins at peak times). Ticket office is only open for a few hours on weekday mornings, only machines available at other times. Parking is cheap, they do fine if you haven't paid but weekends are free. Worst problem is access, there is no lift so wheelchairs, people with reduced mobility and push hairs/prams can't access platform 2 (towards Portsmouth) unless you leave the station, go over the road bridge (no footpath) and make your way up a poorly maintained and unlit path. No toilets or other facilities.

Small but perfectly formed train station. With two platforms - main routes are London and Portsmouth, no toilets, coffee van outside station during weekday mornings and very little within a short walking distance. I'm always surprised that national rail/south west trains haven't invested more into Hedge End station considering how busy it is.

Whilst it has its flaws, such as no disable access in crossing platforms, and staff only manning the place until 12 midday, it has improved. There's now shelter during the rain, two ticket machines, instead of one, and it has plenty of parking space, and is next to a bus station.
There's also a pub a 1 minute walk away too.

I thought this station was great. It has working ticket machines. There is plenty of seating and also there is good bus connections. Very good.
