This is my favourite station in south London. Its so nice and the people so pleasant. And the trains! They are fabuloso!! I want more. Now!!! Now!!!

I'm not sure how to describe this oasis of calm, sometimes me and the wife come here for a picnic and to enjoy the atmosphere. This is certainly a hidden gem in London.

Cheaper than zone 4 in Woolwich arsenal but fewer train services compared to nearby Charlton (e.g., only 3 services per hour to Central London on morning peak hours). Tip: if you have a 1-2 travelcard, excess fare is about 50p lower if you use the more reliable DLR from W Arsenal to Bank Vs a journey from W Dockyard to cannon Street via Southeastern. Ticket office sometimes closed but automatic machine available

Run down station not all the trains stop at this station, no good for wheel chair users as this station only has steps

The good: great for local residents, zone 3 rather than the Arsenal which is zone 4, no barriers to queue at, small staffed ticket office on weekdays, parcel collection boxes on the back of the ticket office. The bad: very run down and dirty, Thameslink skips this station, unmanned in evenings.

Dirty, neglected and no lift for buggies or wheelchairs. I was so scared going up and down the stairs cos they looked like they were going to collapse soon. Its hard to tell which entrance you need as there is no information about the platforms at the beginning of the streef
