Ilkeston now has a new Train Station back in its town. Many years ago we had four stations. Lets hope the public use it on a daily basis, and the council lay on some type of transport from the station into the shopping areas of Ilkeston for it to thrive.

Just a suggestion, a small motorised train on a half hour circular route to the top of the town and back would be nice. Up Station Road along Chalons way to the top island, down South Street to the Market Place and then down Bath Street via Tesco with a few dedicated stops on the way. This may give visitors a site of Ilkeston and what shops are available

The new Ilkeston Station looks really good, when the vegetation has grown it will look even better. Timetables and places linked to the line have been delivered to all homes throughout Ilkeston, that I thought was a great idea. The information written on the timetable gives you more information regarding parking fees, buses that are running near by and the bike racks available at the station. The sound quality on the train is abysmal so be aware. Come on Ilkeston lets use the facility and make the money spent on it worth while

One downside nooooooo toilets

Great to see another new railway station opened. Steam trains including 46233 Duchess of Sutherland pass through from time to time.

Couldn't park this morning as one ticket machine out of action and another coin only. Therefore a panic ensued as to if i was going to get my train on-time after finding somewhere else to park. Luckily the train was late too

I would say its a fairly good station for one that is unstaffed.

Well, this new station links a large town and has things that you would expect such as a car park on one side, a drop off/pick up area, step free access and ticket machines on both platform sides. But other than that, it doesn't feel...I don't know how to word it. It would be nice if there were toilets or having the bus stop next to the station instead of being a walk away near the car park.

Services are provided by EMR and Northern to the likes of Nottingham, Peterborough, Sheffield and Leeds.
