Myself and my wife now use them for all our holidays, next years will be the 6th time we have booked a holiday with them.
Our reasons for using Oakhurst travel are simple. The personal service and the great value! As a nervous traveller, they take all the stress out of going away. The attention to small details that are important to me are always taken care of. All the little extras that need to be organised, such as Visas, aircraft seating, transfers etc, Oakhurst do it all for you.
As a small company you are always dealing with someone you know, and whether your dealing with John or Peter (the bosses!) or Kelly, Marianne, Clare, Sarah or Lisa (the real bosses!), you are in good hands. They are all so knowledgeable, and care about your holiday as much, if not more than you do yourself!
They always strive to get the best possible price for your holiday, and we have never paid the price published in the brochures. That coupled with the fantastic service Oakhurst gives, adds up to excellent value for money in my opinion. Yes, you can troll the internet for deals, and book everything yourself, and fair play to those who are confident enough to do that. But if you'd rather have all the stress taken out of it, and the peace of mind that everything has been taken care of, like I do, then it's Oakhurst Travel every time!
I will always use Oakhurst Travel to book my holidays, and would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of doing so.
We went to oakhurst a year before to book our honeymoon giving all the details for our holiday. Was explained the person would get in touch after searching the right place for us. 3 weeks later no response and had to give same details again. Majority of those details were ignored and sold us a holiday we didn’t ask for. These details were overseen due to misrepresentation and lack of information in prosures and websites. When we looked deeper and found out that the requirements we had asked for such as a separate living space as we have a small child we were actually given 1 room. We explained this to one of the owners after constant chasing with no response we was explained that it would cost roughly a further £2000 for what we had orginally asked for which already wasn’t cheap. We asked for other options and got x2 other hotels which had to pay further money for and still wasn’t exactly what we wanted but by then was the better of all the options. All the owner wanted to do was reflect the blame rather than help resolve an issue which was our priority.
To sum up:
-Customer service was appalling.
-None of the details we had given were met.
-Constantly had to chase.
-Value for money was appalling. I later checked through another site the same holiday for same dates cost £1500 cheaper.
Their friendly, attentive and reliable team always take time to ensure that all options are fully explained and have always kept us informed throughout. Many high street chains simply don't compare!
Well done to everyone.
Unfortunately our introduction was just before the pandemic but the dedication of the staff in getting our money returned even when they were losing money by the day was exemplary!
We vowed to use there service to help this local ATOL agent again in the future and although we normally never use travel/package agents we feel the extra money is worth it, thank you to John and his team.
