Once back home I was checking the vehicle mot history and noticed it had a recall outstanding which I contacted them about and was told it must have just gone on it. They arranged it to go in bmw the following week, no major issues.
After collecting the car a few weeks later I got on the motorway and as soon as the vehicle hit 50mph there was a horrendous whirring noise, I took it back and they arranged for a local garage to look at it that day. I had to wait around all day for this to happen to be told it wasn’t a quick fix so back to SD Automotive I went. After some discussion I had to leave the car there so they could investigate what was causing the problem and take my old car back. It cost be an additional £40 to insure not to the mentioned the additional 100 mile trip I was going to have to make to collect once it was sorted. I decided that I didn’t really want the car and try to return under the consumer rights act as it was not fit for purpose ect. But Shaun wasn’t keen for this to happen so I let them try to fix. Turned out to be a wheel bearing which they put right and I collected the following week.
Shaun and David had both said to keep a record of the extra costs I had occurred which I did and emailed to Shaun as requested. Several weeks later I still had not received anything and try chasing to just be ignored at one point. They have finally sent £20 which is not what was agreed and are no longer responding to me. It’s not a major amount of money but if something is agreed they should honour it in my opinion. Overall not a bad experience buying but not the best. Probably wouldn’t recommend as it’s left a bit of a negative feeling to my new car.
On the drive home I noticed that the tracking was out, the adaptive cruise control didn’t work, and the engine start stop button intermittently worked.
When I spoke with the lady on the phone regarding getting this quoted for / looked at locally (I live 120 miles away), she told me abruptly no and they can only get their garage to look at and they needed the car for a few days. I told that I can only do weekends as I run my own business and could do with a courtesy car. Again, it sounded like she didn’t care much and I had to book it in and hope if got fixed on the day, as they do not provide a courtesy car.
When I got to their garage, they had not passed on the correct fault list, they were going in completely blind on a Saturday. Luckily the garage were amazing and bent over backwards to get it done in one day. Well done Colemans Garage, I think you saved this sale.
I haven’t heard from SD Automotive since before the attendance of the garage. Do they even know if it’s fixed?
Really just looking for quick sale/dealer profit. Low valuation justification, saying car needs MOT, repair, full valeting etc. Typical car dealer sales speak. Car had MOT done in Oct 22, no outstanding fault for repair as all covered under manufacture warranty so really at this point I already gathered what type of sales service provided. All focused for sales profit and not for customer needs.
Not once they asked myself if I had any question or queries regards specs for interested vehicle or simple alternative, inorder to make customer purchase service better. Ended up with no deal.
Only 4 hrs later for them to call me back to ask how much I am after for the vehicle/ valuation. I then mentioned that I have conducted valuation at WeBuyAny Car and they decidedd to offered price match figure at £23800. That's £1300 more than initial offered price. Said they did a valuation check on my car at WeBuyAnyCar themselves prior calling back. All this valuation check should have be done prior instead of giving customer a figure on the spot. Bottom line is, not a honest customer focused sales but purely profit driven.
Mark also really needs to work with his customer interation skills. Asked me for my finance resettlement figure and when I decided to mentioned, he simply says that's enough to cover finance resettlement and full listed price on dealership vehicle. How customer intend with his/her money is simply not his business. I am sure customer can work this out themselves. Not asking for finance advisor. All in all, a poor customer focused service.
Please note- my car valuation has nothing to do with review rating as more than part exchanging car, valuation price I was more reluctant by the dealership professionalism/honesty with customer. Okay for myself as not in a rush of selling/PX but was more curious for PX offer and with right deal was willing to make changes. However, this certainly won't be the same case for everyone. Be careful.
