Bought my wife's car from you last month. Have really given it time to confirm that the car is great just as we hoped when test driving. It is often difficult to find an honest reputable dealers with values on the second hand market. Thank you..., we are glad we drove those extra miles.

I bought a 1992, Volvo 940SE, from Cedar Cars last October. After a chat with Jamie the salesman and getting a reassurance of the quality of this car - 82,000 miles with full service history from new and the last owner having had the car for 16 years, I decided to take the chance.
I was met at Kettering railway station by Jamie who had the car with him and after introductions and inspection etc we were about to head back to the garage but the car wouldn't start. A helpful taxi driver got us going and we gave the car a boost before I headed the 370 miles back home. It had only done 2,000 miles over the previous five years and was just needing to be used.
The car was very well presented. Condition was as stated by Jamie and she has behaved perfectly since. Everything was as stated by Jamie and it was a pleasure to deal with Cedar Cars.

The gentleman in the forecourt was very rude, assuming purely based on my age what I could and couldn't afford. I told him my budget and that I was able to pay for the insurance but he completely disregarded this. I was ready to buy a car and would have done so if it wasn't for such poor, offensive service. Cedar cars missed an easy and quick sale today.

My wife bought a Vauxhall Zafira mid November 2017

She noticed burning smell after a few days.

We then 'googled' problems with car

Found it had been recalled twice for faulty heater part that could make car go on fire.

Went to Vauxhall to see if car had been fixed, it had thankfully.

Two weeks after purchase saw smoke coming out from under bonnet, drove car straight to Cedar Cars.

Jamie (sales assistant) popped bonnet and sprayed break cleaner spray on front side of rocker cover.

Jamie showed gasket was leaking and dripping oil onto heat-shield of exhaust manifold.

Car was only doing short journeys so didn't get hot enough to smoke usually as it takes a quite a few minutes for the heat shield to get hot enough to burn the oil .

Was told that warranty didn't cover this problem but as it was so soon after purchase they would have a look at it.

Jamie said they would need car for a few days

My wife needs car for work so couldn't afford not to have it for a few days so fixed rocker cover myself (£15 plus my labour, took about 1 ½ hours )

Thought car was fixed.

My wife told me it still smells of burning but not as bad.

I checked for any leaks, gasket looked OK but you could smell burning still.

I put car on ramps and looked underneath. There was oil dripping from behind the exhaust manifold. It turned out to be the oil cooler leaking.

Had no option but to fix myself as knew I would be told 'not covered under warranty' .

I replaced oil cooler and gaskets (£110) ,removing exhaust manifold etc.

There is now no burning smell.

The engine management light also came on after about two weeks of owning the vehicle. I bought OBD kit to see what the management light problem was. It was the post Lambda sensor (£60) this was a fault that had been reset prior to purchase but obviously I can't prove this. The new sensor did not fix the problem as it is a fault on the heater circuit of the sensor, more investigation needed. The reason I am sure this fault was present when I purchased the car was that after resetting the engine warning light myself and re-scanning for faults I could see that the fault was still a 'pending' problem (the actual fault has to be triggered a few times before the engine warning light lights up)

When we first saw the car in the forecourt it would not start due to a flat battery. The battery was replaced by a 'new' 38ah battery. This battery has now failed leaving my wife stranded. After phoning Vauxhall I was told the battery is a 55ah cost £108.

Cedar Cars have a lot of Vauxhalls on there forecourt at present and I highly recommend an AA or RAC vehicle inspection

In my view the warranty from 'Cedar Cars' isn't a warranty of any kind.

Cedar Cars have agreed to replace the battery with a correct one

I am to receive a phone call when the battery is in for me to collect!

What an amazing, smooth transaction! It’s been a joy to purchase our X5 from the gents at Cedar Cars, everyone we have spoken to have been very friendly and professional! We drove from Wiltshire and they didn’t let us down! Thank you so much, if we need another car in the future, we will definitely come and have another look! :)
