Their care of animals may be good but their attitude to humans is not.
Just been here with a disabled person as her carer to be told I had to leave.
The reason? I was not wearing a face mask as I'm exempt due to asthma & was told I had to wait outside in the middle of Storm Eunice or in the car.
They have no right to force a person, exempt or not, to wear a face mask, especially when there is no legal requirement to do so anymore.
The receptionist even suggested going elsewhere to treat the cat in future.

Seems vets receptionists think they know everything like doctors receptionists do.

When my cat legs developed a tumour he deteriorated rapidly and the difficult descion was made to have him put to sleep to stop him feeling any further pain. The vets at shuttleworths were amazing. The compassion and kindness they showed to myself and my baby was 5 star. Thank you for making a very difficult time as soothing as possible.
My cat was not registered at this vets and after several attempts to try and see our vet when he was struggling to walk and not eating I was told to wait another 2 weeks for an appointment which I was disgusted with. So I rang shuttleworths and they advised me to come down right away. The service I received was brilliant. And I have now moved my other animals to this vets.

Wouldnt help me with my poorly dog and told me to go to a vets miles away. Would rather let her suffer than assist in her hour of need. Will never recommend again

Took our dog in to check for a urinary infection. Was checked over in the space of 3 mins with a urine strip test. Diagnosed with slight infection and given antibiotics. Was charged a ridiculous £180. Im sorry but I know vets aren’t the cheapest but Shuttleworth vets are beyond insane. We’ve had dogs for 20 years plus and never paid these prices. Only moved to this vets as moved area. Will be going back to previous vets or another.

Not best pleased, called at 7.30pm (website states they close at 8) because my cat was very lethargic and throwing up bile. Was told three times by both the receptionist and the nurse that they close soon, seemed more interested in getting home on time than helping. Very begrudgingly said if I was concerned and could get him in in the next 10 minutes they’d see him. Wasn’t asking for an appointment was just asking what would be the best thing to do till morning since internet had conflicting advice (feed him bland food, don’t feed him, get him to drink, don’t give him anything, take him to emergency etc)
Chose this vets because it was the closest in proximity with good reviews but I think I’ll be looking a bit further afield now.

Edit: they have also labelled him as “aggressive and unable to handle” in his notes - not once has he ever tried to bite or scratch he gets squirmy when picked up but they’ve never had to use gloves or sedation when looking at him so not sure how they’ve come to that conclusion.

Always helpful, professional, considerate to your pets concerns and problems. The staff are absolutely brilliant, friendly, affectionate towards your pets, always on hand for a cuddle and tickle the tums and ears. Advise and information always invaluable.

Absolutely disgusted. I just got home from work just now and found my dog had eaten a full bar of Toblerone that was wrapped as a Xmas gift and hidden away. I quickly went to this vets as it's the closest to me and after googling what to do it says to get to the vets within an hour. I had no idea how long ago he'd eaten it so I thought I'll go there as it's the closest and get some advice. I went inside the vets and said to the woman, "I'm so sorry, but I was wondering if you could give me some advice please" and explained the situation. She asked "is your dog registered here?" To which I said no and explained my vets is atleast 20 minutes away, (not counting rush hour traffic and ice/snow and it was probably closed anyway). She told me, "you'll have to go to your own vets where he's registered". To which I explained, "I'm just after some advice please". She said back with no empathy or compassion whatsoever, "no, we can't help. You'll have to go where he's registered". I was gob smacked.. I thought vets are supposed to care about animals, or is it just when they're getting paid to? She didn't care less what happened to him, she clearly didn't have two minutes to give me a few ideas or advice for my dog that's just eaten something poisonous. To not even offer some advice on what to do in this situation is disgusting. I hope he is okay and healthy in the morning, and that woman behind the desk wakes up with a guilty conscious.

Today i had our much loved cat Jack put to sleep. It was a horrible experience but the care and understanding made by Hammad Sarwar made it bearable. He was so lovely and caring and made it such a soothing atmosphere. Thank you so much for making the worst experience bareable.
