I cant fault nine lives. Our previous hedgehog passed away in their waiting room and the vet who looked after us done an amazing job. Unfortunately, on the 11th November we had to make an emergency appointment for our hedgehog. This vet who helped us was also amazing. If I could give them more stars I would.

They are so caring and are very helpful with any questions you might have. This definitely isn't a vet that's just in it for the money, they care so much about the animals, I highly recommend this place.

My mini lop rabbit, Millie, is 9.5 years old and was extremely Ill between December 2021 and February 2022 with an ear abscess, weepy eyes, a bad reaction to antibiotics and most recently a lump on the side of her face. I have been going to my local vets in Welwyn village for the whole of Millie’s life but have not liked the level of care and service the vets provided me with, they appeared extremely money grabbing and constantly suggested x-rays and different treatments all of the time. I took Millie to Nine Lives in Redbourn for her weepy eye and I could immediately feel the difference in the care and attitudes from the vets and Millie’s eye was completely cleared up in 1 week.

She then developed ear mites and really flaky skin inside her ears. I called up Nine lives and they immediately suggested a cream that they have seen has worked for flaky skin in animals and set some aside for me and didn’t request me to bring Millie over (which my other vets would have). The cream (VetGold) worked wonders and her ears are back to normal.

She has now developed a lump on the side of her face which has grown recently. I took her to Nine lives and the vet did an examination and told me her diagnosis and the possible following steps which were either antibiotics or surgery. As she is so old now, I didn’t want to put her through either due to the risks and the fact that she is happy, healthy and comfortable at the minute. I was told that I could continue giving her loxicom pain meds to help possibly reduce the swelling and a note was put on Millie’s notes to say I could pick more loxicom up whenever my bottles run out, no need to bring Millie in every time. At the vets in Welwyn I would be told to bring her in so they could “examine” her before they would give me loxicom (so they could charge me the £51 consultation fee for telling me absolutely nothing).

I cannot tell you the comfort it brings me knowing there is a vet practice that actually cares about the pets. Whenever I bring Millie home after a visit to Nine Lives, she is completely happy and normal, this is compared to bringing her home from my local Welwyn vets where she is off colour and shaking and lethargic. It is more than worth the 30 minutes car journey to get to Nine Lives when I know that Millie will receive such amazing care. I could not recommend Nine Lives Vets enough. I am so incredibly grateful to them for how they care for the animals brought to them.

The service at Medivet Redbourn has been fabulous and faultless! Debra has gone above and beyond in helping look after our Lola (Great Pyrenean mountain dog) who was diagnosed with two tumours in May this year, Debra helped us make everything as easy and comfortable in her last few months. Lola sadly passed over the Rainbow bridge last Saturday 10th September. I highly recommend the team at Medivet Redbourn.

I've been really impressed by this Vet Practice - the staff are kind, friendly and reassuring. They have always been available to answer questions and find space for emergency appointments for my cat and she has come home from each appointment calm and happy, which is good going for our elderly rescue moggy! Thank you for everything!

I was constantly kept updated on the progress with my rabbit Burt. He had to be put to sleep at the weekend after being transferred to Watford for overnight care, I was hesitant but they were phoned to say he had got there and was settled in. They were brilliant at updating me too on costs etc and choices and allowed me to see him before they put him to sleep. Very caring and understanding and I felt all vets were honest with me about the situation. Highly recommend.
